Louis Coleman had a solid senior season and a decent junior one. Let's not forget the miscarriage he was prior to that before we put him ahead of great pitchers. Nola is probably just behind Gausman who is behind Ranaudo. Then there's a ton of guys like Furbush, Bradford, Coleman, and Verdugo.

That's why he is one of my favorites. Wasn't that good early in his career and then I think he changed his delivery. He had crazy movement on his fastball and looked unhittable at times.
Not to take anything from the other greats. I just loved how he reinvented himself and is a pro now. Difference in his first years until his last in incredible.

Coleman became a dominant pitcher that carried LSU to two straight college World Series, including a national title. He was twice the college pitcher as Ranaudo, and he's been a good pro. They are just one year apart, yet Ranaudo is still stuck in the minors, and Coleman is a good reliever in the Show.
I could listen to an argument for Gausman over Coleman, but definitely not Ranaudo.

Gausman, Nola, and Coleman are all better pitchers than Ranaudo in my opinion. That's not to put him down at all though. Thats great company to be in

So much is wrong with this statement, it's hard to tfigure out where to begin.
Go back to 2009 and you'll see that, as a sophomore, Raunado had just as much to do with winning the CWS as Coleman. Secondly, while they may only be a a year apart in pro experience, Coleman is 3 years older than Ranaudo. As to the majors/minors argument, one is a reliever with the ROYALS, a team who hasn't made the postseason since 1985. The other is a starter with the RED SOX, a team that has missed the postseason twice while he's been in their organization.
Also, Ranaudo's elbow injury his last year at LSU set him back quite a bit. Last season was really his first fully healthy season as a pro.

It is hard for me to choose between Nola and Gausman. The season Nola had last year was one of the best in LSU history. That really isn't hyperbole. The kid dominated last year. I think Gausman may be a better pitcher overall, but Nola had the best single season of the two, and will probably end up with better overall stats when it is all said and done. (Except for strikeouts per 9)
Behind those two I would put Coleman, then Ranaudo. I love me some Coleman. He is one of my favorite LSU pitchers that I have ever seen.

Nola is the best, but Gausman has the highest ceiling. Dude will be in the majors for a decade I'm sure.
Ranaudo had some sick natural size and talent as well.
But if you had a must-win game to win the national title, give me Louis fricking Coleman every time.

Injury problems. Outside of a few holdouts to rest his arm, Nola has been so consistently good since he became a full time starter and has given quality starts ever since his first SEC start as a freshman

This! Nola's consistency over three seasons is what gets him first prize - including a stellar performance at the CWS that was wasted by our defense. Coleman might have had the best single season. He got more dominating as that year went on, and, NO, Renaudo did NOT have as much to do with that championship as Coleman. Gausman, Coleman and NOLA! I won't argue about the order because you just can't go wrong. Is Poche next?!

LSU has never had a pitcher as consistently dominant as Nola has been the last two seasons. Ben McDonald, Chad Ogea, Brian Tallet, Kevin Gausman... None of those guys had the won/loss record, ERA, strikeout to walk ratio, opponents batting avg against, etc. that Nola has done for the last two years. Some have had equal numbers in one or two of those categories, but Nola has been awesome in every possible way. Non-conference, SEC games, regular season, post season, doesn't matter. Dude has done it all.
