First game I remember is the 72 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl we lost to Tennessee 24-17, Condridge Holloway outplayed Bert Jones.
First season I remember is the next year 1973, started 9-0 and had a showdown with Bama who was also 9-0 on thanksgiving night in tiger Stadium. they beat us 21-7 then we lost to Tulane the next week and lost in the orange bowl to Penn St. to finish the year 9-3. I don't think Mac ever recovered from that slide at the end and I don't think LSU beat a team that finished the year in the top 20 after that season under Mac.

First game was vs UF in 1972 or so. Remember many "games" after that, not seasons though.
First season I remember was 1979. I can still spout off players names, game results, emotions of wins and losses (ugh some pain) and a goodbye.
Lots to remember from that season.

1993 was the first season I followed religiously. I was 9.

Same! We went to Mexico that year for Thanksgiving. And the Friday after we were watching LSU vs Arkansas and we were losing so my dad came up with the idea that everytime we scored we would run and jump in the pool. We won like 45-41 and it seemed like we jumped in like every 5 minutes. One of my happiest sports memories. I was 7 and will never forget how my dad made it fun and some day I'll do the same with my kids. We all love LSU football so much we forget that it's supposed to be fun, and a time of bonding with friends and family.

The season of the Jamie Howard Auburn interception game. My sister had just started college and I was in junior high.

My first memory of being at a game is the 1992 A&M game in Baton Rouge when I was 7. When I can actually recall details of games and whatnot was probably the 1994 season.

My first memory of a game was 1970 versus Ole Miss where we won 61-17 and Tommy Casanova had an All American evening. I was 5. Mostly I remember talking about it with my older brother and our neighborhood friends more than the game itself (which I would have watched on TV or listed on the radio). I was cognizant of the Tigers in 1969 but 1970 was the first season I remember.
I remember watching the Orange Bowl loss against Nebraska at my grandfather's house in Franklin. That's probably the first game I clearly remember watching on TV.

1982 for me...I was 12.
I remembered sort of half way watching games before that season with my dad, but back then the Tigers weren't on TV often so it was harder if you did not have tickets or liked listening on the radio. I was certainly familiar with guys like Charles Alexander but nothing really hit home until '82.
In 1982, he brought me to a Booster Club crawfish boil in the late Spring and I got to meet Dalton Hilliard and Gary James before their epic freshman years. Went to my first game the start of that year against Oregon state and was at the Florida St Orange/Fog game for the second to last home game that year.
Was in love with the football program ever since.
Or, as some would suggest now since I'm critical of the current administration...I'm actually NOT an LSU fan and it's been a long con all this time...

After doing some research it turns out to be the 1971-72 time frame.
I remember both the controversial Paul Lyons / Bert Jones dual QB system and the Jones/Davis catch against Ole Miss (but I couldn't remember when those happened).
I was 7-8 years old at the time. I think I went to my first game in 1971.

It was a "Mid 60's" game against Alabama in Tiger Stadium. Our seats were in the lower SEZ Upper Deck right behind the goal posts.
My uncle from Tuscaloosa was a big Alabama supporter and friend of Bear Bryant. He got us tickets every other year to the game in TS. We never beat Bama, so I grew up hating them and all their BS.
Started attending regularly in the early 70's while in high school. (From Mandeville, but graduated from Choctawhatchee HS in Fort Walton Beach FL)
LSU student on and off PT/FT 74-82. GBFTL in 74. Madison Scouts D & BC in 75, then more GBFTL 76-82.
I've seen roughly 90% of the night games in Tiger Stadium since the early 70's. (Don't go to sacrilegious day games)
After being down on that field for so many years, it's not that exciting being up in the seats. Even for very big games it's been very anti-climatic. That's why I state "Been There, Done That" often.
Been doing it so long now, that it's not that thrilling/exciting any longer and very easy to stay away. (Particularly in the last 5 years or so with the Corporatization, Sanitation, PIMization and Decline in the Tiger Stadium atmosphere. Thanks LSUAD )

Geaux - Anyone who attended that 1982 game against FSU had to be hooked for life. That game was a surreal thrill-fest from beginning to end. I've been way hooked since.

As awesome as it was having the Oranges rain down my biggest memory of that night was the fog rolling in! It was incredible...and if you remember Tiger Stadium's lights used to be pretty terrible, so it was already kind of dark under the lights. The the fog rolled in and it felt like a monster movie.
I remember crying when LSU lost the Orange Bowl that year by one point to Nebraska. LSU would go on to lose two more time to those assholes in the Sugar later in the 80's...one of which I got to go to with my Dad. Still hate those guys...

1982. Vividly remember my dad going crazy when we beat Bama. Then remember the mystique of wearing the purple jerseys in the Orange Bowl. Also remember actually listening to Jim Hawthorne (before he seemingly became constantly frustrated) on the LSU radio broadcasts in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s and enjoying it. There was something special about actually watching the late news just to see highlights of the games back then.

My first game was LSU v FSU in 1982. Orange game. I remember LSU whooping them and all the oranges being thrown on the field.
The first season I really kept up with the games was 1987 when I was 11. I watched or listened to most of the games that year.

73 vs South Carolina in Columbia. My dad got us 50 yard line seats (we were living there at the time). We won because their QB that we couldn't stop ran out of time before they scored again.

Probably 97 and specifically the night the goal posts came down. Seems like my dad cut the grass in that LSU/UF shirt for over a decade after the fact. I love LSU football

Mine was the 1967 season. I remember watching the Sugar Bowl game against Wyoming at my Grandmother's house in Walker.
