BATON ROUGE - A fund benefitting the daughters of Ann Hope Browne, the sister of LSU football coach Les Miles, has been established.

Browne, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident last week, left behind two daughters - Jessie and Katie. Katie is a junior at Zachary High School and Jessie is a freshman at Southeastern Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Ann Hope Browne Memorial Fund at Hancock Bank.

Donations can be sent to:
Hancock Bank
2600 Citiplace Ct.
Baton Rouge, LA 70808
Attn: Bryant Moore
Ann Hope Browne Memorial Fund
Account Number: 44851951

A private service will be held for Browne today.

considering the age of the children and the tens of millions of dollars that thier uncle has made while coaching at LSU and other locations, this seems a bit odd

I think it is largely in response to LSU fans that wanted to give something

this makes no sense to me

the extended family obviously has a ton of money

the kids are close to grown....one in college on a sports scholarship and one about to be a senior in high school

Coach Miles would have to be a very cold man to not ensure that those girls want for very little until they finish college, at the very least. nothing about his past lends any of us to think he would be that way

That's not his job to give a shite load of money to them. I'm sure he will but being a catholic, it's nice to do things for people who need help or went through a tough tragedy like this. That's such a coward response saying "We'll Les Miles is a millionaire, he should have them covered.

I would think between their Uncle and life insurance benefit they'd be set. It's not like the kids are in grade school living in a trailer.

I agree .. although I am a bit surprised that he allowed this to account to be set up. I would have thought that he would have stepped up and said "I got this" ..

That would have been the right thing to do - IMHO

stop being a fricking cheese dick ... it is a sad tragedy .. but the kids can take care of themselves .. with or without the help of their uncle ... who doesn't feel bad for them ? they lost their mother .. but what makes them any more special than any other LSU coach or athlete's immediate family that suffers a loss ? they are both adults .. not 3 and 5 years old ... stop acting creepy ..

The kids are old and can fend for themselves. The one left in high school will need support but its hard to believe the mother had no death benefits and was flat broke. Plus they have family to help them out.

5 people were shot over Easter. I guarantee their families could use the money more than the Miles' family. I wonder how much the Catholics are willing to help out those needy families?

You are entitled to your opinion, doesn't mean that it is not tasteless and out of line for the situation. People were asking how they could help, so there was a fund set up. Who knows how miles will deal with this situation but its none of anyone's business but his and his family. But if people want to help, the fund is a nice gesture.

This.

If you don't agree with it, shut the frick up and don't contribute. Sometimes you can be right and still be a giant douche.

I got a $400 truck note you can help out with. Toyota Motor Credit would appreciate it.
