I spoke with one of the trainers for the football team and was told no one has benefited more from coach O being here than him. He's reshaped his body dropping from 290 during last season to 272 now. Coach O has made it a point to trim down the DT's and beef up the DE's to allow them to hold the point of attack better. Herron will switch back to DE. Can't wait until this September and as always geaux tigers!

That's what I like to hear. DE is looking up: Bower, Herron, Neal, Teheuma, Clark, Key

That doesn't sound right. Why would you want smaller DT's?

All of his DT's at southern cal were around 300-310 but very agile and athletic. That's what he likes

The idea is that they become more agile and quick off the ball and consequently are better able to penetrate into the backfield or pursue a ball carrier near the line of scrimmage.

Strength , speed , stamina. Nevis dominated in the 280's. Technique, quickness, and strength are more important than bulk..

Wasn't Leonard Williams at 290 at DE? I like it. Bower/Clark/Herron at 260-270 and Key/Teuhema at 240 coming off the edge.

330 fatties who don't get any penetration suck.

290 athletic types who are quick are awesome.

It really makes you think about how much talent was wasted. Our linemen just held up the o-line for the linebackers to attack. I think that's why Freak made little impact during his tenure. The new d-line is going to attack and penetrate while the linebackers will sit back. Steele also knows how to blitz his LBs to create mismatches.

That is great about Herron--if he can contribute, that will be a bonus. I hope to read soon that Valentine and Trey L are ready to come through at DT and it may be that DL will. E much stronger than many think.

I don't think he'll significant playing time. Stuck between the current guys and next years sucks for him.
