Knowing how good of a defensive mind Dave Aranda has, you can't help but be excited. Michael Caputo has a special-breed of toughness and was a three-year starter at Wisconsin.

The more people on staff who can speak the defensive language of Aranda, the better!

Love the hire. Extension of Aranda, great player, tough as nails, and we have very inexperienced safeties.

Wisconsin Safety Mike Caputo added as defensive assistant

I've watched him play. He is smart and tough.

quote:

Caputo attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he played safety for the Wisconsin Badgers football team from 2011 through 2015. He was a starter for three seasons, 2013-2015. For the 2013 season Caputo earned a starting spot at safety despite missing all of spring training after undergoing neck surgery. Caputo started 12 of 13 games. By the end of the season Caputo tallied 63 tackles which ranked 2nd on the entire team. In the 2014 season Caputo led the team in tackles with 106 tackles and was a consensus 2nd team All-Big Ten pick as well being named 2nd team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.

Michael Caputo & the Wisconsin Badgers football program closed out his final season in 2015 in the victory column.

Jacob Hester is such an asset to our school. The love he continues to show the program is mind blowing.

Was excited when the saints signed him last year. I had remembered him balling against us.

Heady and tough kid. It says something that he's not a mere graduate assistant, but a full fledged one.

He wasn't tremendously athletic, but made up for that with football smarts.
