And this. These things annoy the frick out of me... He's done well for himself. Has had a stable job for at least quite some time.. Why in the hell are people more than likely in a far far more precarious financial situation paying his bills? Such an odd phenomenon....
Dude, are you ignorant? Even with GREAT insurance, a horrible illness like cancer or heart disease will absolutely decimate a family's finances, unless they are worth millions.
In the USA, unless you are worth several million and you aren't in Medicare or Medicaid, you will absolutely go broke due to a devastating illness, no matter how good your insurance is. That is why we need national single payer health care for all Americans.

I was a year ahead of Hokie at Baker High. I remember his older brother was on the football team and a pretty big guy. Hokie looked quite small by comparison, and I didn't think he had much of a football career. Hokie blew up in no time and became a force to recon with. He really is a good guy. I have no issues with supporting him in his time of need.

Hokie remains upbeat and positive about his prognosis.
Through it all, Hokie continues with his winning attitude.
"Just like I’ve done since we started this...just taking it one day at a time.”
Newman reacted, "That’s our Hokie. One day...one yard...one challenge at a time.”
"If you love Hokie as much as we do, the biggest help you can give is to help relax his mind, so he can concentrate on getting healthy and not have to worry about money," Newman stressed.

Prayers going up. Cancer is a vicious evil thing.
He strikes me as being a fighter. Fighters don't always win, but I'm betting on Hokie.
One of my favorite La. athletes.
