Brady got teams to play hard, I'll always give him that. But I feel like people misremember him. He ran off 1-2 players a year. TD wasn't going as hard as it is now, but gosh could you imagine that now? And when you have shot blockers like Tyrus and Stro, then an on ball defender like Temple, your defense will always be good. But let's not forget that LSU all time scoring records for a half belong to Brady. There were some ugly ugly games in there. We had 2 good years, 2-3 above average, then several AWFUL.

He was all of that, but he was also probably LSU's best technical coach in a long, long time. If he could have mastered the people side of it, LSU could quite possibly have won a championship. I wish he could be jjs assistant under the condition he is only allowed to speak when talking basketball tactics/strategy.

I have thought numerous times that if you could combine the good points from Brady and Jones you would have the perfect coach.

Anyone who thinks Brady was a great coach needs to go rewatch that UAB game in the 2005 Tournament. Squeaky Johnson is still leading fast breaks and finding Marvett McDonald for open 3's. Every single time in the postseason, outside of the Final Four year, Brady's defenses shite the bed. Gave up 75 to Ball State in 2002 NIT, 80 to Purdue in 2003, 70 to Oklahoma in 2004 NIT, and 82 to UAB in 2005. Those numbers are especially bad when you consider how his teams always held the ball for the whole shot coach on offense.

Brady made his name as a defensive master against the likes of Rod Barnes at Ole Miss. But when we played good teams we usually got smoked.

You're wrong...I am not white-knighting Brady. I just don't think JJ is a very good coach.

People who paid attention are well aware about Brady's career. I for one never got to enjoy any of the good Brady years as a student.

But Coach "Moon" and Coach "Gob" can draw up better plays during a time out.

They couldn't recruit like JJ, but they were much better with X's and O's!

I wish Brady was our coach so he would make Quarterman play hard/quit the team.

I picture John Brady drunk at some hotel bar reading this thread on his tablet and smiling instead of doing scouting work on their next shite arse Sun Belt opponent

Gotta love those brady ball teams who played so hard that they'd score 10 points in the first half and finish up in the 30s or low 40s.

Yeah, that never happened.

We did, however, score 23 points in the second half tonight.
