That game was absolutely terrible! Not the game itself, just everything else. We were stopped on Airline for almost 1 hour trying to turn into the stadium. It also took us almost 4 INNINGS to get food.

Did anyone else have the same experience?

Same here. There was also no parking left except a muddy field.

Yep. Left our house in BR at 4:30, got to our seats in the second inning. Had to end up parking in a grass field over by the Saints practice facility. We didn't bother trying for food, the 15 person-deep lines just weren't worth the wait. I've been to 8 or 9 Wally Pontiff Classic games and this experience was the worst by far.

And Zephyr Stadium itself has deteriorated into a complete dump. As Project referred to, everyone in our group said we would adamantly oppose the SEC tournament being hosted at Zephyr. It's an embarrassment.

I got there at 2, before they started even charging for parking. I really enjoyed the game. The line for food & beer near me was very quick. I had no problems.

I've always left early for games at Zephyr Field.
Never know what traffic around that time trying to get to stadium will be.
I never remembered parking being that bad with that huge lot if you were willing to pay
The stadium has not been kept up, it would need a lot of work to accommodate SEC tourney, plus the hotel situation around that stadium sucks.
I went to a Zephyrs game last summer and the concessions were terrible.

I went and enjoyed it. We arrived in Metairie at about 6:15 and were parked by about 6:40. There was a line to get into the parking lot, but it didn't take hours. There was also available parking in the lot. Just had to pay 5 to park. Don't know what time you people got there that couldn't park, but there was certainly parking.

Concession lines at the beginning of the game were crazy. They were long, but I didn't get anything. Beer lines and bathroom lines were short. Later in the game it was reversed. Nobody at concessions and bathrooms had lines.

I also really enjoyed the game itself. Was my first time ever at zephyr field, but would certainly go back.

Not sure what game you attended but we arrived at 6:20PM, easily found a parking spot, and food lines were normal for a 'sold out' game. Food choices were about 100 times better than at The Box.

Just sayin...........Geaux Tigers!!!

I feel like people are afraid to improvise. Wife and I left pville at 530, got into Metairie no problem but once near stadium ran into traffic. Parked at Lasalle park and walked the zephyr loop to stadium. I laughed at everyone sitting in traffic on Airline. Food lines were long though, but that's what I would expect for a sold out game (assuming workers aren't used to crowds, not sure how packed Zs games get)

That's why you park at the McDonalds across the street and walk over. Problem solved next year

Went to a Z's game last summer...Wednesday night at 6:00. At first pitch there were maybe 100 people there. I was shocked. 6:00 is a rough start time on a weekday and the crowd was late arriving...but still, there were maybe 1000 total at the game. I had a whole section down the left field line to myself.

The people in this thread complaining are probably the miserable idiots that complain about any and everything. As others have said, there was parking 20 minutes before the game started. There was traffic getting into the stadium, but not an hours worth. Concession lines, like traffic, should be expected at a sold out event.

Maybe it is just me, but I didn't think Zephyr Field was as much of a dump as people are saying, and I wouldn't say it is any worse than Hoover Met.

I have certainly seen a lot worse Minor League Stadiums.

However up against the likes of the stadium in Memphis and the one in Nashville, Z Field definitely leaves something to be desired.
