I kept seeing a lot of these comments on the youtube stream as well. I didn't even give them a reply, because for one it's baseball season, and two the matchup in Austin in September won't even be a game. They lost so much on defense, they will be lucky if we don't hang 40 on them. If Burrow gets any considerable amount of time in the pocket, with the time he has to develop chemistry (we saw this coming together during the back half of the season) and what will be a very strong running game, he may throw for 5 TDs.
Ehlinger will not be able to take over this game. All those suspensions and injuries at the tail end of last year gave our guys time in and they are fricking hungry. Stevens, jacobs, diviniy, delpit, fulton are all looking for Ehlinger to run. If he gets past the D-Line it will not be good news for UT.
I was a bit worried about Miami because I didn't know what to expect, but I am not even really thinking about this game because it will be a runaway victory. Probably 41-10.

Ensminger’s clunker offense won’t score 41 on Texas’ defense, depleted or not.

That a joke? Ensminger's Offense put up 33 on Miami during the first game of the season and that defense is a whole hell of a lot better. Texas D was not even top 50 in scoring or total last year and it will be a shell of itself in 2019.

Bring it
The shock that you will feel, will be longer than the season.
You best worry about your coach and not LSU's.

Turnovers were involved.
LSU did get some turnovers on Miami.
If Ehlinger turns the ball over Texas could be in trouble.
I see the game going this way...
LSU stays true to their roots and Orgeron gets conservative
LSU's D holds Texas but Texas scores on two drives in the first half
LSU's best option is to play like Oklahoma St or West Virginia..
We all know that won't happen.
LSU won't be able to control the LOS.
Every game LSU can't control the LOS they lose
Plus LSU couldn't really stop the run last year.

41-10? In our house? JC, you're more delusional than aggy.

I'm not about to waste anymore time with this because we both know neither of us are going to change our minds. We return our entire offense that had flashes last year, ESPECIALLY against inexperienced defenses. Our defense may actually be better than last year, despite White leaving early. I'll leave it at that.
I'm gonna start drinking this Mississippi Mud and get ready for Game 3.

Sorry to get off topic, but you know what I laugh at this year. It's not the Texas overhype (it's beyond stupid that the media thinke Texas's defense is going to be ready for LSU in week two), no it's the Texas A&M hype. Not only does TAMU not have a RB worth a flip, their defensive front 7 was shredded (that top 5 rush defense is now gone), and their pass defense was arse last year. Not only that, they play @ LSU, @ Clemson, and @ UGA, and also face Bama. Those 4 teams will finish in the top 10. I saw a guy put TAMU instead of LSU in his 10 teams he thinks could get to the playoffs because he thinks LSU has to break in a lot of young guys on defense. That was so beyond stupid that I just had to laugh.
If I had to guess right now, I'd say LSU goes 11-1. If we go 10-2 we were upset by UF at home

Has LSU even learned about the forward pass yet...
Don't want to play another UGA.
Considering Texas's pass defense would have be the second worse FBS pass defense we played last year (literally one spot above Ole Miss), I believe we would fare pretty well. Keep in mind LSU had an OC who hasn't coached his own offense in 20 years, coach an experimental offense with;
- a first time starting QB
- first time starting RB
- several first time starting, and hell even playing in college, WRs
- an OL who was not only brand new, but had a new OL coach and had to go through no less than 5 different starting units thoughout the year because of multiple injuries
Fact of the matter is that outside of TE, FB and a couple OL, There wasn't a guy on our two deep offensively that was higher than a 3rd string player prior to 2018. Even our starting QB fell from backup to 3rd string at Ohio St.
I'm not saying I expect an offensive explosion, but I do expect LSU to get better based purely on actually having experience everywhere and bringing in, what I believe, are 2 of the 5 best RBs in the 2018 class.

I agree other than the fact that the game is in Austin. Look how much we thought we would go into there in Baseball and dominate.
Posted on 3/3/19 at 12:45 pm to Datbayoubengal
No, you are right on. LSU is poised for a playoff run in 2019. The offense really came together the back half of the season, aside from Alabama where Burrow couldn't get more than 1.5 seconds to throw.
Like you said, we won't be an ofensive juggernaut but this should be the best offense since 2013 and the best overall team since 2011.

I am a Texas football fan in Austin and that big talk by some our fans about the football game is crazy. We have goof balls just like every school site has.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the same Ensminger offense that struggled to move the ball against the worst defense in the SEC, couldn't move the ball when it counts against Florida or Aggie, and routinely relied on Dave Aranda's defense to bail it out when it wasn't able to run out the clock. That's the offense I think we'll see in Austin in September. The very conservative, uncreative, Les Milesesque game plan that tends to appear when the game gets tight.
LSU has the talent to win this game going away, but I think poor coaching and a bad game plan keeps it close.

You forget who tore UGA up FAR worse than Texas did. A motivated UGA team with all their studs playing too. Texas football fans are way to hyped right now after that sugar bowl. Certainly a great game for them, but lsu scored 36 on the same defense, except UGA had deandre baker for the lsu game, who is ATLEAST top 3 best corners in the country. And all y'all wanna talk about is how bad lsu's offense is, but when you score less against the same defense, how does that work? Or is it just that you think Texas has a great offense because you get to play the oklahoma defenses of the world week in and week out? One more stat. In 2018, lsu averaged 32.5 pts per game (against better defenses), Texas averaged 31.1 .

Hopefully we won't get stuck watching that game on the queersteer network. Lhn is horrible. It's like a high school avn put it together.

Not so sure. If we win the SEC we're in the playoffs. The sips have no bearing on that.
Go 11-1 and don't win the division? The crooked selection committee will say it's nor fair to put a team in the playoffs if they don't even make it to the SECCG.

Just like the LSU baseball team was going to go into Austin and wreck shop
