.....is a huge contributor to Edwards. They are close. Very close.

He explains his dilemma to the new Governor.

Guess who gets fired?

Plausible scenario.

Who has authority to fire F'King and Joe?

LSU fans shouldn't want Joe fired.

His culpability is negligence for letting the story leak from his department, but he's looking out for LSU's best interest here.

LSU B.O.S. and/or the LSU President can remove the AD.

LSU B.O.S. can remove the LSU President.

The Governor of Louisiana can appoint and remove B.O.S. members.

I don't like Joe.

I don't like what he did at Duke and I don't like him at LSU.

What? The President of the University put academics before Athletics (or more precisely, the politics around academics). His actions, while perceived as detrimental to the athletic program, we're aligned with his job description. Alleva is responsible for the AD. If he's ineffectual at making his case, he shouldn't have that position.

It's not worth discussing here, but the President of a flagship University is supposed to consider more than athletics. The AD has one job.

Considering the University wasn't going to be paying the buyout, F'King should've stayed out of it.

No, don't patronize me, I understand and maybe I should have expounded more. In the vacuum of analyzing Alleva, he is looking out for LSU's (the part he controls) best interest.

I believe King Alexander considered what he did in the best interest of LSU, the university. It sounded, but I didn't mean to, like I was implying Alexander wasn't looking out for LSU's best interest. However, on the merits of the course of action he took, I believe he did a very poor job at it.

No doubt in my mind that ship has sailed. He supposedly wanted the job. Then the academic side of things stepped in and made it giant waste of his time. F--King A probably ensured that that bridge was burned.

That's a very black and white way to look at a complex situation. I may not agree with his actions, but I don't pretend to miss the reasoning behind it. Like I said, this is the wrong forum to discuss this. Everyone can see the roles of the state government with regards to the university, and yet they still ignore them when considering the actions of what amounts to a high ranking government official in its president.
