"According to a report from ESPN’s John Clayton, Flynn has shown “nothing special” so far in the Seahawks’ minicamp, meaning that Jackson will enter the team’s full training camp as the team’s starter."

Bummer.

the same john clayton that said the saints won't make the playoffs this year? it's the middle of june, if you really think jackson will be the starter you're delusional

John Clayton is pretty well informed. Just because his prediction might not appease you doesn't mean he doesn't have some inside information in the nfl.

Flynn’s a gamer, he’ll win that job no problem / Carrol stated from the beginning he would bring Matt in to compete with Tarvaris.

after reading the article, it sounds like this is blown WAY out of proportion in order to create "buzz"

john clayton didnt say flynn wouldnt start. that was an assumption made by the writer. i would like to see the rest of what john clayton said.

actually thats what he did say

quote:

ESPN's John Clayton reported on SportsCenter Sunday that Tarvaris Jackson will receive the first quarterback rep when the Seahawks open training camp late next month. Jackson is the incumbent, and Clayton says higher-priced Matt Flynn has some work to do to overtake him. "(Flynn) hasn't wowed anybody in all the offseason program. And because of that, when they start training camp, Tarvaris Jackson will be taking the first snap," Clayton said. "... It's still gonna be a three-way competition. Because of that, Flynn's going to have to pick things up and wow everybody or at least take control of it during camp. He's not done it yet." Jun 24 - 3:38 PM

Still it's just training camp. Unless Jackson turns into gold, I'm sure at one point Flynn will start

Jackson is in the last year of his contract and set to make $4Mil. Flynn makes $2Mil this year, $5Mil next and $6Mil after that. Russell Wilson is signed for 4 years and will make between $400k to $660K.

IMO Jackson either ends up the starter or gets cut. I think they will try to justify the money they gave Flynn and Jackson ends up cut.
