I went to every home game from 1991-1996, including post season. Tonight I went to the new Box for the first time. Very nice stadium, but the music sucked donkey balls. The pitching change music simply filled time instead of "peanuts" or "we will rock you." Nothing to get the crowd involved or get into the heads of opposing pitchers.

"Calling Baton Rouge" should only be played once or twice. There's no fricking point in playing it 11 times, even in a 15 inning game.

It really feels like LSU is phoning in their baseball fan experience now. There was a lot of involvement and thought involved in everything during the 90s. Now it feels like I am watching the Diamondbacks.

They got a new music guy before the 2013 season and he changed the soundtrack and he suckssssssssssssssss.

The worst part is them not playing the little organ lick after LSU gets out of the inning.

First trip to the new box and you do a mid-week game against a southland team? I live in Houston so I have to pick and choose when I can go in for a series but the SEC games are packed and there are tons of fan involvement.

Should probably see both sides before making a definitive statement as you made.

Can you really call it the "new" box anymore?

I know the difference between SEC and the rest. Ive been to enough games to know that the music program will not change from Wed to Sat. The fans might be into it more, but the programming will be the same. It's phoned in. It sucks.

You're right about the music at the box being terrible. Like I said it was changed before the 2013 season. The loser needs to be fired and they need to go back to how it was. They don't play things between pitches when LSU is batting, the organ riff after LSU gets out of the inning, Callin Baton Rouge multiple times. It's a joke.

Where have we heard that before?

It shouldn't be played at all and I'm getting tired of hearing it before every football game. Getting old and worn out. Out with the old HC. In with the new New HC/OC and Pre-Game intro song as well....................

I've been saying this for about a year now. Can't believe somebody else thinks this.

I've always taken the approach that CBR is a special song to LSU athletics now. You should only play it in a big spot in the game. A Friday or Saturday night, when LSU is mounting a comeback and the opponent makes a change. You play that song to excite the crowd in hopes of rattling the new pitcher. It loses all "umph" when you play it 13 times on a Wednesday night vs in state schools. Many probably won't agree with me.

Go back to "Talkin Baseball", "Cheap Seats", "Centerfield", etc...

Sounds like you hated it, maybe should boycott for another 11 years and check back in Spring of 2028?

Great pre-game songs.

The pitching changes were always "we will rock you" or Kenny Kleinpeter would play "Peanuts" to welcome the next Charlie Brown to the mound.

Calling Baton Rouge has to fricking GO.

You attended a 15 inning, 5+ hours long baseball game last night in your first game at the new Alex Box Stadium and your main impression you're left with is about what music got played?!

WTF?!

No, SERIOUSLY, WTF?!

Am I going crazy or did they move some of the speakers this season?

I want to say that there were more suspended on the roof of the overhang, but now it seems like they moved them to the concourse.

I know at the very least they are louder than they have been in the past. There are times, especially before the game, when the generic music is so loud in the gold seats that you have to really speak up for the people sitting right next to you.

Well, it's not like he could comment on the amazing hitting display.

I actually miss the old days with the organist.

Not that I want to go back to having just that, but I wish we could get someone and do a better mix of it and the music.

To be honest though, there are times when I'd be happy if they could just get their shite together with the video board.

Never knew someone who went to a baseball game, especially at the box and was only concerned about the music.

Don't know if you realized it but there was a baseball game going on there.
