First offense series against Bama

Should def not be like the last 3 games Etling in Shotgun made for a very slow start. Just line up in either I or single back with 2 WR and get it going early.

I think LSU goes out of its way to try and be special against Alabama and maybe that isn't the right call. LSU should do what it has been currently doing, be multiple, show usage of the entire field to make the defense play more honestly. Be diverse in down and distance and personnel.
One thing I would like to see is some draw plays. I think Alabama has shown this season that you can take advantage of their rushers getting up the field and taking themselves out of plays.

You can still be multiple out of the shotgun. I thought the play selection the first two drives vs OM were somewhat forced and disjointed. However, the 2 back look out of the gun with Guice and LF Could be an effective weapon against Bama. Getting them involved in the passing game puts Bama's LBs in tough coverage situations. It also gives Etling an extra split second against the rush.
I'm not saying we will work out of it a ton, but I do think we will see more of it sprinkled throughout the game. I also bet we will see some targeted HUNH. If you want to run inside vs Bama, the second or third play of a quick sequence may give us an opening for LF if someone is late to a spot or gets a little winded. Again, just in spots.

Good call. Have we run a single draw the whole year? We've screened a time or two, but draws - like a healthy arse dose thereof - can for sure get a team like Bama (super fast) to head scratch on an all ears pinned back upfield rush,
especially when they've not seen the look from us.
If we did run draws, I'd almost do them w/o fournette getting the hand off because If I'm scheming against LSU, id have my stud of studs tackling him without any regard to what else is happening on the field. "SON, YOU TACKLE FOURNETTE EVERY PLAY. - DONT EVEN WATCH THE BALL, JUST TACKLE THE GUY WEARING 7 NO MATTER WHAT ELSE HAPPENS."
