My son enters his senior year at LSU. Prior to that we really didn’t follow college football or watch many college football games. We are now rabid LSU fans. My wife and I plan our weekend around LSU football. I will forever be an LSU fan.
I have not earned the right to comment on the team, coaches, recruiting or on other people who post (they are far more knowledgeable about LSU then I am).
I will say that I have never seen anything as exciting week in and week out as LSU football and for that matter SEC football. As of most of you, if LSU was 0-11 I would still be watching the 12th game of the season.
The reason for this post is to remind people that as in a train ride sometimes we are looking toward the train station and not enjoying the ride and scenery. This year could be special but the next 2 years after that could be even more. My son and I are going to enjoy the scenery.
I read Tiger Droppings everyday of the year and thank all the people who keep me informed.
Geaux Tigers
Whatever happens today and in a bowl game. Thanks for the Year Tigers.

You need to post more than once. Great first post.

You are correct, sir.
Now, this post will be like talking to the wall for these idiots who are ALWAYS unhappy and bitching.
But even those of us who have half-a-lick of sense should indeed stop and enjoy the ride, with all its "thrill of victory and agony of defeat" moments along the way.
Thanks for posting.

one of the things that i cherish more than anything in the world is the fact that my son and i can sit down and watch a game together and he knows everything there is to know about the structure of college football. he's only 13 and i can't wait for the first game.
this is something that you can do for the rest of your life.

I agree 100% tigerdup07! My son is 11 and i've been bringing him to games since he was 2! He and I both bleed Purple & Gold! We have shared some special moments in Tiger Stadium and plan to share plenty more!

however, i love to put the gumbo on outside and fix me a little charter and diet coke too. hell, if we beat bama, i'll probably let him fix himself a little one.

Excellent post- we sit here year round talking about recruiting and predicting what will happen during the season, and yet we fail to actually enjoy the season.
