In my short time on this board I have come to learn an open discussion is almost impossible without most being called an arse or retard.

I wonder how many of these true fans giving this guy shite are the same ones that were saying Ross was horrible after the 1st inning in game one and should be taken out?

But at the end of the day it's all about winning and an ulgy win is much better that a pretty defeat.

Let's take it all today!

Let's give Dan credit for thinking about a subject before he posts something..he registered in 2007 and spent 2 and half years formulating his thoughts on the 09 team before posting....At least he doesn't shoot from the hip.
I do think we are perhaps being treated to a little early morning sample of: concern trolling

"...it felt like a hollow victory...."

No doubt we suffered from lacka timely hitting, for the most part, but come on...how can any victory that puts us in the regional finals be called "hollow"?

This is just me, but I'll take a 3-2 10 inning win over Baylor to a 7-6 9 inning loss to KSU any day of the week!!

Bottom line is our pitching has been teriffic but our offense needs Dean and Schrimpf or we struggle.

Yes please go away. I can't go to the game and enjoy myself with all the negative shite.

We're sitting pretty, we've hit all the marks to this point, yet nega tigers still can't believe that we're not perfect.

I know we all support the Tigers but it is laughable how some of these people are with their blinders on.
What exactly are they blinded to? The reality that pretty much every team, regardless of how great, struggles in some games? The fact that teams that struggle in close games are just as likely to win it all as any other great team that also struggles in close games, like all teams do?

Bottom line is this: either this team is doing/has done something that championship teams do not do which makes you concerned that we are not a championship team this year, or they have not and you are inexplicably complaining about a nonexistent basis for concern. So, what exactly has this team done that has not been done by championship teams before?

I was just trying to provide a little objective talk to what this team is up to.
What this team is "up to" is heading to the final round of its regional undefeated. How is complaining at this point remotely "objective"?
quote:

We are lucky to have such a good team.....but our teams of the past have spoiled me
By doing exactly what this team has done?

Surely someone who has followed the Tigers as long as you does not suffer the Rantard delusion that all of our Championship Teams never committed an error, never gave up a run, never trailed in any game, and won every game by at least 10 runs, right? Surely you remember our 2000 National Championship Team being tied with UL-M heading into the 7th inning of our regional game. Surely you remember our awesome '97 team being tied with Long Beach State heading into the 9th inning of an elimination game, after being pounded by South Alabama 11-5? Surely you remember that same team trailing Rice heading into the bottom of the 8th in their first game in Omaha?

So how exactly have these teams of the past "spoiled" you by experiencing basically the same kinds of struggles that this year's team -- and all other Championship-caliber teams -- have experienced?

It'll be alright.

A lot of the white knights here forget that having reasoned, well thought and legitimate concerns
What is "reasoned, well thought and legitimate" about being concerned that a team struggled in a game? Is it reasoned, well thought and legitimate to be concerned over the fact that the team did essentially the same thing that every championship team in history has done at some point in their championship season?

The point is that his concern is in no way, shape or form reasoned, well thought or legitimate. He is "concerned" because we had a tight game in a regional. Some of the greatest teams in history -- like our own '97 team -- have actually lost games in regionals. Being 2-0 in a regional with a tough struggle to win the second game offers no reasonable basis for concern.

Chill out brosef. It's baseball, you're going to have games like that. How much did Texas score in 24 innings? Rice lost, UCI lost - we're in great shape. Nothing to be down about, the bats will be there

+100
Holy shite someone with brains... Its like some people just started watching baseball and think 16 runs is the norm.

There are 16 teams that were eliminated yesterday and 16 more that will lose in the next few hours who would be thrilled for at least 1 "hollow" victory.

Please tell us all exactly what it would take to satisfy you?

How ya feeling today dandan; oh and by the way mr. Big fan were about to be on an 8 game winning streak; just goes to show that no matter how long you've followed baseball has nothing to do with your insight into the sport.
