Pretty interesting film break down of Jalen Collins vs Cooper this year. Spoiler - it doesn't do Collins any favors...

Collins did well enough to slow Cooper down and prevent him from mauling us like he did to everyone else. But Cooper dominated him. Cooper beat him off the line every single time that Collins played him square. There were a few times Collins was step for step, and made plays, but that was when he was playing the sideline route from the get go.

Meh. You can't do film room without talking about the defenders around him looking at the all 24 view. I agree he's not perfect but some of those points (i.e. never more than 7 yds off) ignore the type of defense he was playing and what the coaches were trying to do (robber).

He had film to back what a lot of realistic fans think. He isn't a finished product and was the 3rd or 4th best corner on our team last year. But great measurables and I hope he does great.

I'm no scout, but my eyes tell me Collins improved quite a bit from freshman to junior season. That, combined with his size and speed, makes think he can be a decent NFL player.

Exactly. If we kept White on Cooper we would have won. Cooper was targeted 5 times against Tre White and guess what 0 catches. 1 was a bad drop, but by that time White had Coopers confidence shooken with the press coverage and physical play. 1st play going to Collins side = slant for a TD

IMO Collins was at best the third best DB on last year's defense. Sure he was good, but he never reached his potential (in terms of physical ability). I guess the NFL is in love with his physical attributes giving him a chance to be a first rounder.

LSU does not rotate their CBs to cover. White is the right CB. Why wasn't Cooper on White's side more? Because White is a bad man.

Nobody consistently covered Cooper in single coverage. He's much more pro ready than Julio Jones was coming out.

An accurate NFL QB will see Cooper open in single coverage almost always.

Nah. Amari's big year is more the product of that system. Is he good, hell yeah, but he is no Julio. Nearly 1000 yards and 8 TDs as a rookie in only 13 games. Go watch Marqise Lee in his Biletnikoff winning year to see the similarities.

Collins should have just thrown Cooper on the ground before the ball got to him. That strategy seemed to work just fine for the Bama DBs.

That is some pretty awful technique on that first play.
