Frank's REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to tighten up his release.

pretty sure that has always been his biggest critique and it is correctable

and it seemed like his slow release was only when he was trying to put touch on the pass, not when he was slinging it down field

Apparently, he has already made strides to correct his windup. He'll have a year and a half in the program as an early entry who redshirts. The mechanics will be addressed.

A windup is still not an efficient release

He is not Byron Leftwich

He could be scary good if he has 1.5 years to prepare and get bigger.

Especially if Cam is truly getting his "guy" in Franks...

Yep

Also need to break that back foot throwing habit

Had enough of that with Jarrett Lee

Which is why I wrote "he has already made strides to correct his windup." It has not been corrected yet. As in, getting rid of it.

Well, he probably won't be able to do that until he gets to college thanks to that o-line.

Tebow tried to shorten his wind up and he still throws the same way he did in college. It's not as easy as you think

Two years from now could be an embarrassment of riches for LSU at QB between Harris, McMillan, and Franks.

You can't have a slow release and be an elite SEC QB.

But still, he was one of the best college players ever.

They said he set out the jamboree because of an ankle injury, probably why he was throwing without his feet set. Also, that OL was truly bad.

Franks is on a very poor team. He showed a great arm. His receivers couldn't create any space and his offensive line looked like they were stuck in mud. I just hope that he can make it through the season without a major injury.

Exactly. That plus his previous injury the week prior plus the coaching, and you see this guy was facing an uphill battle. As the season goes along, I think he'll get into a groove and play much better.

Like you said, hopefully he can survive behind that awful OL.
