I wasn't a Jennings hater just faced the fact he wasn't an SEC caliber guy and knew if Harris went down we really were going to be one dimensional.

I feel good so far at least feeling that no way in hell Harris hasn't gotten better and know he has a better backup.

Etling sounds like in year 2 with us he is ready if called upon. Seems like a bright guy and has the size for sure.

Anyone else seen him throw or heard any info on how good this guy is?

Well i feel being bright is where we have lacked.

Gimme a decent arm and a bright kid with this talent and we go 11-1.

Also started at Purdue for a Minute says something.

He was dreadful there, that's why he got benched. I understand that he was put in a position to fail by being a freshman starter on a team that seriously lacked talent, but don't use that to prove your point that you feel more comfortable with him as a backup than Jennings. The stats say they are essentially the same.

Yes. But he had crisp for talent around him. He can only get better with the kind of talent LSU had. Jennings HAD that talent and failed.

I agree, but it's at least real game experience vs someone that has only played in practice scenarios.

What is this based on? I haven't seen interviews with him, so I may be missing something.

Did you forget about the year Jennings was a starter in the SEC? You act as though Danny's starting experience in the Big Ten trumps Jennings starting experience in the SEC. What's wrong with you man? Use your head before you type

I can't figure out who is in the majority here... People wanting a white qb or people butthurt about a white qb.

It comes up every single time in these threads.

Starting as a true Freshman for a really bad team with a porous OL is a recipe for disaster for any QB, regardless of talent. And he made the most of a bad situation that year at Purdue. Cut the dude a break. We are solid behind Harris, and should push him to be better than last year.

He started as a true freshman on a God awful team. You can't completely judge him by that alone! Personally, I think Justin McMillan is our best QB.

I don't see where anybody is saying Danny doesn't have the potential to be good. But to use his time at Purdue has a reason he is better than Anthony Jennings is ridiculous. Anthony Jennings proved more in the SEC then Danny did in the Big Ten.

McMillan...why do you think that? The only time I saw him play, he was horribly inaccurate.
