That stadium is not overrated, not at all. It was the most electric atmosphere I've ever been in after 20 years of games in Tiger stadium and on the road.
They may not be able to keep it up week to week, but last night, the energy in Bryant Denny was incredible. In the lower bowl, it was as loud as anyplace in the country at times.

We were about 50 rows off the field in the corner of the endzone. I didn't think it was all that much louder than the previous 3 times that I've been there. It was consistently loud and very intense but nothing ridiculous. The only exception is right after the pentalty on TM7. They were chanting "Kick him Out!" and, when play resumed, it got damn noisy in there for that first set of downs. Still not on TS level.
I had one old dude give me a forearm shiver walking into the bathroom but I just laughed at him and kept walking. Most fans were great. Our section was mostly Bama and we talked with most of them throughout the game. We shook hands and they congratulated us after. All in all, a pretty amazing environment. It was a game that I will never forget.

I thought the maturer bama fans were great. Lotta young prick assholes out there though

Pre-game atmosphere and tailgating was the best I've ever seen, anywhere, including LSU. Bama fans were really friendly as well. The very few jerks I saw were drunk college kids after the game.
As far as inside the stadium, it rocks but not nearly as loud as Tiger Stadium. At their loudest, Tiger Stadium wins easily. And where Bama puts all opposing fans is a joke.

Gator fans are the meanest in the SEC. LSU fans can be obnoxious, but the worst I've ever been treated at an away game was in the Swamp...and that was after an LSU win.
Not in my experience though Gator fans are not saints. The worst would be Arkansas followed by UGA (ugly after they win which seems weird). Then maybe the Gators.
I've been to Bama for 5 games; have always had a good time with no trouble at all. Auburn fans have always been pretty good too.

I agree with you. Gator fans and Bama fans were good people. By far, worst I've ever come across are Arkansas. All of them are loud snobs. Big time inferiority complex.

The fans that surrounded us were extremely nice and good sports, as well. We ran into several condescending, college age pricks on the Quad, however.

Ark game I'n little rock was the worst last year! Ark fans are all white trash every single one.

I'll say this though, it didn't really come across on the television. Seemed loud, but nothing too bad.
Knowing this, I was impressed last night that I could actually tell the crowd was loud on CBS. That means they were really really loud at the game.

Several Bama fans congratulated us after the game but most just tried to avoid eye contact and walked away. Overall, Tuscaloosa is a great trip. I liked the stadium better before the additions of the endzone upper sections. I think it had more character then.
One complaint, the music and the use of the video boards was horrible. Loud annoying music and the repeated squeals of the Bama strength coach was out of control. I had a few Bama fans saying they wished it would stop.

it was loud but you could have heard a pin drop when ford took it around the corner for the apparent td in overtime. they realized it was over. I was talking to urban meyer down by sideline fence and when that happened he said"nice"

The fans were great! The stadium was rocking as well. They didn't have to much too say when the ball game was over.

I'm a passionate LSU fan, but man that is just ridiculous. Talk about overly obsessive about it.

I got a lot of f*** LSU after the game, but they were from younger fans. Everyone I sat around was extremely nice.

I wouldn't say our experience was hostile, but....
I find it weird that my g/f and I, as 2 females, get bumped into and people come right into our faces and say "roll tide." It's usually male fans between the ages of 20 and 40. Seriously, folks, you can't find some GUYS that like to play that game to do it to?
We had one old lady come down and tell us that we needed to sit down because everyone behind us was having to stand up to see. As if the Alabama fans all around us weren't standing up... other Bama fans came by and told us she does that every week and to feel free to stand up and cheer all we want.
Most of the people after the game were nice to us. Had plenty of folks tell us "good game" and say that they hoped we had a good experience. The other odd thing to me is that none of the people working traffic control had any idea about the layout of the campus. When we asked one sheriff which direction to walk to get to our parking lot he said, "it's about 3 or 4 miles, I don't think you want to walk it...you should probably just ride the shuttle." He looked like he couldn't have walked it without passing out.
But overall, they were pretty friendly.

If you look at TideFans.com you will see their moderator is a total pussy by playing an over-intrusive big brother over all the content on that site. I suppose the pussification of those fans would lend itself to becoming hospitable fans.

Then you must've missed out some of the best games in Tiger Stadium.
There's no way it was a better atmosphere than 1997 LSU/Florida, 2000 LSU/Tennessee, 2007 LSU/Florida, just to name a few.
I'm not saying that Bryant-Denny doesn't get loud, but to say that the atmosphere was better than any LSU home games of the past 20 years is beyond ridiculous.

Was there....nice stadium...loud...but def not as loud as TS....only had a fe a-holes mouth off after the game....gave one drunk bitch a forearm shiver when she got in my face and spit at me that "yall are just not that good!" NO WAY the tailgating is as good as ours!!
