Or is our pitching that elite...? We knew the hitting would take a step back, but let's hope it can be formidable by SEC play.

I think that the new players are struggling against our experienced pitchers. They should get better the more they see this level of pitching, IMO. Our veterans are hitting OK, there just aren't many of them.

That's probably what's going on mostly... I just hope they are comfortable by SEC play.

Our pitching is good enough to carry us to the postseason. Especially if Norman, Godfrey and Bain all improve.

In past scrimmages, ex-players have worked out with our current team. Tyler Hanover and Louis Coleman for example. I think this player could have been doing the same.

What is Reid's fall OBP? Seems like every time I open one of these threads he's been getting on base.

I was thinking the same. Didn't someone send us a picture of Gausman pitching and Katz catching in practice last year...?

That was directed at HCB... though, thanks for the updates. No BTCJBJFB have been to any scrimmages yet. The BR based guys are slacking.

In the 5 scrimmages I have seen, Reid is 3-7 with 4BB and 3HBP for an OBP of .714.

Last Fall when Ryan May was trying out as a walk-on he didn't wear a uniform. I believe Katz & Coleman practiced with the team in January prior to the start of their Spring training, not in the Fall.

We will make the NCAA tournament even if our offense if the worst in the conference. Our pitching is elite. I don't know what you means by "not win very many games"... Maybe you just mean less than 40. If that's what you mean then, yeah, I guess there's a chance. If you mean less than 30, though, for instance, there's no way.
