Thanks for these scuba. Couple of questions about the defense:

How has Slaughter looked at 3rd?
How's Woley doing at 2nd/3rd?

I haven't seen you mention anything about errors in any of the posts yet, is the team looking that sharp?

Thanks for posting. Appreciate this!

When is the next open scrimmage/practice? I might stop by.

I have scored 4 total errors thus far: Hughes 2, Reid 1, and Feduccia 1. Based on past fall scrimmages, this is a low number.

Slaughter has held down 3rd adequately so far. He made one good play on a hard ground ball to the left of the bag and made good throw to record the out in yesterday's scrimmage. He hasn't had a lot of action at 3rd as yet. He is 1-8 with 3K's and today's HR at the plate.

Scrimmage tomorrow is scheduled for 4:15 but, the time is, as always, flexible. Check Micah Gibb's twitter for changes to the practice schedule.

Rankin Woley has done fine at 2nd in the 4 scrimmages. He is 4-8 with 2 doubles and 2 K's batting.

That was Fontenot's second appearance so far right?

I know Mainieri has already compared him to Matty Ott. I wonder if this is the early work being done to get him used to throwing multiple days on a weekend to set him up for a late inning relief role.

honest question: why do we steal with the catcher?

Yes that's correct. Who knows if he's trying to mold him into setup type role or seeing what his velocity looks like after 3 day stints to try him as a starter but either way he's been a pleasant surprise so far.

In 170 career games between JUCO and summer Feduccia has 20 steals and 7 caught for 74% success rate. Anything over 70% is considered beneficial.

I wouldn't expect it a ton during the season, but it's not the worst idea.

I think the Ott comparison is due to his upper 60's curve ball. It moves quite a bit and he has good control of it.

Could Cabrera be our best every day player next year?
