I grew up in Lafayette, graduated from USL with a bachelors and LSU with my masters. Lafayette is pathetic. I am waiting one day for Lafayette to succeed from the Union.

Sounds like some inferiority complex with our fans, tbh. It's easier to talk crap to make-believe fans from Lafayette than it is to talk crap to real UK fans in the SECR, I guess.
Reality is Lafayette has a very strong LSU fanbase. It also has a very strong UL fanbase and while some of those UL fans would like to not see LSU succeed, I have yet to see any of them being fake fans of a different school.

Just to clarify, no one from Lafayette is a Patriots fan and most Yankees fans that I know in Louisiana are in New Orleans. I won't argue with the Alabama football fans that come out of nowhere when Alabama starts doing well.
I know that I am going to get downvotes for this comment and ragged on bc this is my first post lol but that's ok. I have been reading TD long enough to not take offense. And yes, I am from Lafayette.
