1. Miles was 1-2 against Auburn at Jordan-Hare going into last night.

2. We had 3 players on offense and 6 on defense starting their first "ROAD" SEC game of their college career.
Offense-Mett, Landry, Boone
Defense-Mills, Loston, Muncie, Barrow, Edwards and Johnson

3. This is the first time Auburn has lost 3 games before October 1st in their history.

People need to chill out. LSU has a lot of things to correct no doubt, especially unnecessary penalties, but we are way better than average. It's the SEC. No game is a gimme, EVER.

I would add to that:

LSU is minus 2/5 starting O linemen.
LSU is minus the starting RB.

Exactly. We have a ton of young, inexperienced players on both sides of the ball. The expectations we all put on this team were unrealistic and they have some maturing to do. I also think losing Faulk was a bigger deal than anyone expected.

I know we are talkin facts here --- and this might be a bit of a stretch...

But is Auburn really that big of a cupcake? I don't think so. I think they may have taken ULM lightly, not played as fired up... And they held CLemson in a neutral field game, where as the mighty FSU team watched Clemson roll up points on their field...

That said --- we need health on the oline and improvements in O play calling if we want to beat Florida or Alabama.

I understand you started that topic and want everyone to think you are a great poster here, but quite frankly you said nothing related to anything I just pointed out. Sorry

Everybody forgetting about South Carolina.

Clowney will eat Josh D for lunch, and Mett will pay for it if we don't get THAT fact fixed.

Facts about last nights game

The most pertinent fact about last night's game is that, outside of the NCG no-show, it was the worst game LSU has played since 2009, maybe 2008.

Nobody's jumping off a bridge. Many are frustrated with a supposed NC contender that is playing VERY poorly.

we are way better than average

That's comforting.

They all were last year, except Bama. But that was last year. When we were not just "better than average".

No. They had played 2 ranked teams in Clemson and Moo State, which by measure are far better than anyone LSU has played. And a ULM team that is better than Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Vandy. So I don't think people are being realistic about last night's game just because Auburn was 1-2 even though their 2 losses were to ranked teams away from Jordan-Hare.

That has to be the most irrelevant stat I've ever seen. Take 1950 for example - Auburn lost all 10 games they played that season, but they didn't even play three games before October. Their first game that season was September 22 (the date of their fourth game of the 2012 season).

So, the worst Auburn team in history almost beat us. That's a good thing?

My post was to support your facts in more detail concerning Miles 1-2 record @ Jordan Hare and just LSU's history in general in the 21st century.

My goal was/is for people to see that the average score of LSU's SEC openers at Jordan Hare is basically 13 - 12 in AU's favor. And AU did have a chance to make it that exact score.

As far as your other details, basically each year there have been different variables (like the ones you mentioned) that people can point to that lead to LSU's struggles at Jordan Hare.

More than likely AU's team, coaches, and fans' collective confidence is just extremely high against LSU at home.

See this link about someone's experience there

In 2009 LSU lost to 13-3 at home vs UF. So "maybe" 2008 is not correct.

Against MState in last season's SEC opener, the score was 9-6 going into the fourth quarter.

And if you look at the history of AU vs LSU, the ONLY thing that was historically inconsistent was that LSU won last night.

As far as I can see, LSU passed their first test.

Maybe you aren't. But after viewing the meltdown on this board after this win, one might think otherwise.

We also played UF and AU at home. LSU is 4-1 @ Bama in the 21st Century. Typically lose on the road @ AU and typically play VERY close games at UF on the road.

UL- Monroe put more points up against AU than LSU did..in fact looked better than LSU in scoring offense ...this is the SEC.

LSU best play like it.

UL Monroe also lost the game and gave up 31 points to AU.

Or are you suggesting that you would prefer UL Monroe's offense/players over LSU's?
