Mine equate to 51.25 a game if my memory is correct. If I sell any I will always try and recoup the TAF fee and more if possible.

So should we ask the income of the people we are buying tickets from, to determine the tax break they get from donating money to the TAF/tradition fund?

The market will set the price.

TAF is not what's marked on the ticket, TAF only gives you right to the season tickets, IF LSU has a poor display on the field and SeasoN Tickets aren't sold out, a Section 103 ticket for Alabama would cost 70 dollars, NOT the 175 (TAF fee included). or whatever it costs.

When it comes to street buying, 40 dollars is the face value, there's no way you could convince me that it would be 52.15 or whatever it is to include TAF costs. TAF only applies to those that want the "right" to season tickets.

The market is free, and you are dumb.

why can't a Tiger fan pay another Tiger fan exactly what he paid for the ticket, ?

Well of course they can

your view is that I should pay for you to attend a game, even though you should be well aware that the price on the actual ticket is not what the man paid for it.

The price on the ticket is not set in stone.

It could sell for much more, or much less.

No, I just understand how tickets to home games work.

Well then, you should be able to afford to pay a man what he did to secure the tickets.

Bet you have a big house with that great job in Big Lake...i've been looking to move out that way.

If you decide to upgrade housing anytime soon, I'd be willing to buy your house from you for 60% of what you paid for it....I am a Tiger fan.

It's not about the money, it's the principle. People have been playing "face value" card with LSU tix , even though they know the TAF fee is mandatory, and is just a way for LSU to raise more money through football tix and bypass some Title IX issues.

I think some people forget what a donation is. You donate for the rights to get season tickets, bowl games, etc. if I pay face plus TAF/tradition fund, do I have the right to get a 1/8 chance of getting bowl/BCS championship tickets?

Should you be able to keep the tax deduction on the house on Big Lake, even though you sell the house?

THIS is why we all clearly state face value plus......

Regardless to your insignificant point, the seat your arse wants to be sitting in is "VALUED" more than that.

The issue was the "face value" idea, not the market.

You will have a hard time paying less than the $75+pro rated TAF for the Bama game... I don't play that either. I'm not going to ask $400 dollars for that ticket... I hate that shite.

If you pay the minimum TAF fee, you aren't getting a bowl ticket these days.

Meh, stand on your principles I guess. Lower bowl tickets for most of the games can be had for a good bit lower than face value. Most of the games are shite games.

I've been to every home game for quite some time and have paid more than the actual face value printed on the ticket exactly twice. I don't haggle, I pay whatever people are asking. The only time I've sat in the upper deck over the last three years was once for free tickets to a Arkansas game.

No one means any offense by it, you can just get the tickets from a lot of places for a whole lot less than face plus TAF. If you can get it for the 70% of the games that are shitty, more power to you.

Yep that's right, there were countless emails for North Texas asking me to pay 75 each, and claiming them to be face. but Face is only 40 for North Texas and it's not going to be hard finding tickets less than 40. FYI.

I think you're confused. LSU is selling UNT tickets for $25-$40. They are selling a package for $75 that includes 1 UNT ticket and 1 Ole Miss/State ticket. Or you can package the Towsen game and a Miss. school for $75.

LSU isn't going to charge more than face for single game ticket sales.

Decent point, I guess. I could finagle the pro rated number down a bit... to be fair.

I can't. My problem is the guy who wants a ticket and plays the "face value"card... not everybody, just THAT GUY. I have sold tickets for far less than face and given them away few times, but i'm not selling to THAT GUY.

I'm really talking about SEC games, not so much for the rent-a-wins.

I've been advertising two tickets for North Texas, Idaho and Towson for $30 a piece and have gotten no responses. I feel the OP's sentiments to a certain extent though, casino capititalists want to privatize the gains and socialize the losses. I'll probably mark them down a bit and if I still get no responses I'll give them to someone down on his luck with a kid that might like to go. If you TAF reimbursers want to do it right, pro rate the taf relative to the face of the ticket if you gotta get that back. More or the TAF allocated to Alabama than NT.

I think the most fair way to do it is face + (.7)donation, but selling the tickets in groups of two (ie best game and shittiest game grouped together--Bama and Townsend, or two decent games like Washington/whatever Mississippi school we play at home this year).

The problem is when buyers don't want to pay a premium for marquee games, or when sellers expect face value for rent-a-wins. The market will set the price.

Oh, well in the case tell them to take a hike. I'd bet that if somebody is patient, they can get lower bowl tickets 15-30 minutes before the game for $20-$30 a pair.

Uh, look at the post ahead if yours.

As far as trying to get $75 for the UNT game, that's crazy. I wish you would have just mentioned your issue in the OP.
