Extra coach limit hasn't been proposed per Alleva

He was on 104.5 this morning.

I'm paraphrasing...

The extra coach limit hasn't even been proposed. They only vote once a year. Alleva not sure if he is in favor of it or not. He would have to think it over and read up on it.

If Haley stays at LSU, his title will not remain as an "intern." They will come up with another job title for him. He is over qualified to be called an intern.

That was really all that was worth noting.

what are the negatives of having an extra coach? Only thing I could think of is bigger coach payroll but for a program like us Im sure that is no problem.

Alleva is a penny pincher.

If Alleva has to pay another coach, we'll have 4 neutral site games a year.

I can understand if he is still making up his mind, but I would have felt better if he said he would also seek input from his head coach.

Now would be the time to prepare. He always comes across as a follower not someone who sets the pace or direction.

So what ya'll are saying is that Alleva is the one that killed the proposal and prevented it from being brought up at the meeting because he is cheap?

No one said that. Senility is really taking its toll, huh?

No one has said anything close to this.

A penny pincher is an appropriate way to describe Alleva. Some of his recent actions and especially what he has done with coach's contracts/salaries seem foolish and could result in LSU losing ground to other SEC West schools.

Approving that additional coach should be a no brainer and if Alleva is too tight and stupid to see the need, I there's no hope for him. This is the type of thing that shows LSU needs to move on and find a competent Athletic Director.

This. It sounded like that's what Alleva would like to avoid. He already spoke on how it would be more expensive to pay for the 'full cost of attendance' to the athletes.

My vote is for Joe to just take a pay cut.

Boo fricking hoo. The $30 million a year from the SECN should help Joe.

Yep. Tired of hearing that Alleva is a penny pincher. Do people believe if they keep repeating this it will make it true? One of the highest paid staffs in college football and people always complaining we pay Caldwell way too much. Manieri is one if not highest paid baseball coach too.

A&M, Ole Miss, & Auburn are investing in their programs (Chavis hire, Freeze raise/extension, & Muschamp hire). Alleva is cutting corners on contracts in case he fires Miles for all our assistants instead of investing in the football program. One year into the SECN deal all the other SEC teams are spending that money investing in their football programs while Alleva is nickel and diming our staff through his cheap bs.

Welcome to big time collegiate athletics Alleva. Your job security is directly tied to your head football coach and football program. If you don't like it, you shouldn't have taken the AD job at LSU with the paychecks you're getting. And you shouldn't be trying to save yourself by scapegoating Les when you refuse to pay for quality assistants and won't reinvest your record league revenue back into the football program.

Alleva needs to go.

Isn't Jindal slashing higher education again this year for $300 million?

Isn't that the gist of the thread? The proposal wasn't enacted and all of you know-it-alls seem to be blaming Alleva.

When does LSU add the extra neutral site games? Before or after the non existent extra coach is added? More of your inside information?

You need to quit smoking that cheap Livingston Parish crap. You are rotting what is left of your brain.

Aleva Asleepa is not the AD for LSU!

And it's just a matter of time before he's encouraged to find another job.
