Truly, what would you be happy with.

To me anything short of Top 32 in NCAA would be a travesty.

what say you

If they can get to 9-5 in the SEC, that should get them to the NCAA's...they would have a record of 16-10 overall before the SEC tournament.

The team is getting better as they go...showing improvement each game. If they keep getting better, I think they make it to the NCAA's

Van is doing fine. They lost some close games early to some really good teams...but they are showing rapid improvement. I think he is doing as well as can be expected.

He signed a 5 year contract...this is year 2. He pledged to stay for all 5 years when he signed it, so I would take his word for it until he says otherwise.

Improving with every game. The SEC is not what it use to be this season. LSU and Tenn not the top gods. Neither is ga. Fla id good. I thought Miss State was, but gotr beat bad last night. Auburn is like 12-1, but hasn't played anyone yet.LSU will do just fine. If they do not make it to the big dance....that's ok.....youth will conquer...

I'd agree that round of 32 is a reasonable expectation. The SEC is a house of cards waiting to fall. Van's gon coach em up; we host the first round. Barrett matched Seimone's highest-scoring freshman game last night. We have four post players who are fighting for playing time, so they are more motivated to crush the competition. Graham seems to have found a role. We need a steady point guard, and I never can figure Hightower out.

Sadly, the Final Four streak is over. The rest of the SEC is vulnerable too, the Tigers should expect round of 32. Getting past that will be hard.

Pokey Chatman's loss is *huge* - she was a great recruiter and probably the reason why LSU made the leap from being occasionally good enough to the real deal. But she pulled what has to be the most absolutely massive screwup boneheaded move in the history of coaching.

Pokey was a good recruiter but Van and his staff have established themselves as top notch recruiters after signing the number 4 class in the nation last year and signing 2 of the top 75 players in the nation for this year. And with Riley transferring we should be able to sign another player this year. We need a tall defensive presence, like Sylvia.

As far as expectations we will finish in the top 5 in the SEC and should be in the tournament. We should make it to the second round, which could be a tough out for a top team if we continue to develop our youth.

They're mich better since Dunning is finally losing weight from her injury. They only lost to #1 UCONN by 13 points, and they rotated 6 freshmen in the lineup.

yeah, I'd say they're getting better.

LA has the top center in the country for 2010. All I know is that she's 6'4 and she's white

Dec 08: Theresa Plaisance (Vanderbilt Catholic / Terrebonne Parish, La.) is an extremely long, 6-5 post player who has develop a nice hook shot around the basket and has several nice post moves. She passes well out of the double teams she constantly faces. Although Plaisance can shoot the 3-pt shot, she has the tendency to drift away from the basket during offensive sets, thus at time causing herself to miss out on rebounding opportunities.

Spring 08: Theresa Plaisance is a young player who has a lot of potential. She already is doing big-time stuff like baby hooks and swim moves to get open. She can knock down 3s as a post player and makes herself big in the paint. Plaisance also sees the court very well and even broke the press one time with the dribble. To develop further, she will need more conditioning and a little more time in the weight room.

I am not playing the race card at ALL here...as I am a big women's hoops fan and have been for years, but we DO need to get some white players on the team. The 6'4 white girl from Vandebilt would be good...and LSU is hard after the guard from St. Michael, who is also white.
