expectations for LSU 2011

what is the minimum for this team in the FALL? we got two senior QBs, the METT, da HAT, a slick new OC kragasaurus, auburn blew their load, BAMA comes to death valley.
winning the WEST? SEC? is another cotton bowl acceptable brothers???

Expectations are through the roof. Honestly I think for a lot of fans whether they like to admit it or not, it's national title or bust.

we need to win the west. if we do, we'll win the sec. we need to start winning more conference championships. it's about the only thing missing from the mile's tenure. 1 outright and 2 wests in 6 years isn't quite where it should be.
that said, realistically:
1. qb situation is still unsettled
2. losing one of the best players in the conference on all 3 levels of the D is a concern.
3. special teams is an issue, new punter, new kicker, new return man.
4. someone needs to step up out of the RB group.
5. health is always an issue. plus, how good will bama be by that time? how soon will florida bounce back? Tenn makes me uneasy, arky makes me nervous.
hope is high. we'll see.

Are you talking about realistic expectations, or fan expectations?
Fan expectations are for a National Championship every year.
Realistically, we have to replace Ridley, Peterson, Sheppard, and Nevis... we have no clue what our quarterback situation is, and we're breaking in a new offensive scheme.
Things could be 8-4 bad, or they could be 14-0 good. It's really no different than any other year.

I hope for a national championship but we are just missing too many key players. I will be happy if we win the west. Very happy if we win the SEC championship. If we win the BCS national championship, then this team has exceeded my expectations.

I think these expectations are too high and the fans are expecting too much because of the media and what's coming back. If this team loses 2 games next year, then the Miles haters will be back in full force.
With this schedule, I think the expectations should be cautiously optimistic and leave it at that.

There's no excuse for not winning the west this year. That is my expectation, along with being in NC contention throughout the year.
