No, it used to be a joke. It was portrayed that the family was lying by saying the dingo ate their baby.
Recently, it has been confirmed that the dingo did in fact eat their baby and the media and police were assholes.

Met his position coach from W.Monroe prior to the ULLLLM regional game last mth & he said Mingo is a really great kid, coming from a difficult family life & should run wild this coming season. A really high character young man.

thank god the dingo-eating-babies phenomenon is finally getting the respect and attention it deserves. i salute all of you who are raising awareness about this issue, as it affects everyone.
i'll never forget when i found out that my next-door neighbors lost their first- and third-born children to dingos. those godless killing machines took the oldest child, stephanie, while she was in an outdoor shower and claimed the third-born, jeremiah, one fatefull day at a kick, punt, and catch clinic. those were very sad times.
