JL keys on one reciever, JL holds on to the ball too long, JL can't make his reads, when the pressure comes, JL gets happy feet, JL can't run the option, JL takes too many sacks, etc., etc. The short term memory of the fans is hilarious. You need only go back to last year's Louisiana Tech game for a re-verification of what you should have remembered from '08.

Sooo your saying that JJ has at least 1 more problem than JL, yet JJ should start?

BASED ON WHAT!?!? Lee hasn't had significant playing time in over a year. Who's to say he hasn't improved.

All we want is for him to have a chance.

I think they should alternate series in the first half, then play whoever looks better the whole second half.

Meh, I think they should get like 2 or 3 consecutive series to try and develop a rhythm. Basically, I don't want the QB that starts to think, "Well, frick it, I am going to try and force everything since I won'b be back out here after a punt."

Rather, I want the QBs to settle down and live to fight another day on third downs.

Saban tried that with Marcus Randall and JR. Didn't work out very well.

The rant makes way too much of this. Pretty much all college quarterbacks do this. Even in the NFL many quarterbacks will stare down their 1st target.

We don't know if the light has come on for JL but it obviously has NOT for JJ. Junior year is when most QB take a big step forward. This is the year when JL was supposed to take over when he was recruited. He was rushed into service before he was ready. He was an Elite-11 QB recruit with a strong arm and a lightening fast release. It's time to see what MATURITY has done for his game.

Other than Loston picked off a pass from JL in the spring game, I was thinking Lee had made a lot of improvements in his game. Until he gets out there and shows what he can do, I'm not going to compare him to JJ in 2010. I've seen JJ in action this year, but JL has not gotten to pass the ball one game. Lee's a redshirt junior, maybe the light has come on for him and he gets it now.

I think Lee has a lot better idea of what is going on. Jefferson is more athletic and can put you in a 3rd and 5 instead of a 3rd and 8. But, from what I have heard, Lee works much harder than Jefferson - no link, just what I've heard.

Is this a joke? They are polar opposites. Do you even watch the games?

JL is more accurate. JJ threw no accurate passes Saturday and can't read defenses. Maybe he just had a bad game. I had high hopes for the kid but nothing has changed.

I don't really care who starts they both show suckiness. However, If the starting qb shows suckiness during the game like going 3 for 12, or throwing a pick 6, yank his tail and give the other kid a shot. If the other kid shows signs of suckiness then give the kid who has had a chance to figure out things on the pine to get back in there to see if he's figured things out. The pine really helps players figure things out.

"Saban tried that with Marcus Randall and JR. Didn't work out very well."

I could not disagree more with this assertion. While the QB play was often poor in 2004 due to Randall's limitations and JR's early developmental stage, using 2 QB's almost certainly caused us to win games that we would have lost. that team went 9-3 with very narrow losses to Auburn (10-9 with us missing a PAT) and Iowa (defensive screwup on last second heave). If we go solely with Randall, we lose to Oregon State. If we go solely with JR, we lose to Florida.

I want to JL play more not because he has shown how good he is, but because neither QB has shown that he is that good. So, let's give both guys a chance to have some success and in the process, maybe we can find a hot hand in a game that will allow the offense to play better.

Playing the 2 QB's in 2004 was not the cause of poor/inconsistent QB play, it was the result of and, at least on some occasions, the cure for such poor play. Let's try something akin to it in 2010.

I agree with West-Cal, I would start JJ so as not to screw with him mentally this week; and see what he does. I would also get Lee in for a series or two early in the game.
