you have to acknowledge they are a good team. thus, when they get to the CFP, they have success. you can't say the same for Oklahoma, and the Pac 12 winner can't even get in the CFP.

having said that, this Clemson team isn't as good as last year's, and this LSU team is Gooo-oood!

the fans don't get it, but the defensive staff and defense watching the tape on LSU have a clue. this offensive attack is unlike anything college football has ever seen, because of the talent on offense and Throwin' Joe burrow at the helm.

neither team plays losing football, and if they both play their best lsu should win by 14.

Its all about relatively

A good conference fives you a frame of reference.

There isn't enough conference play before bowl season to measure most teams. You never know if a conference is just garbage.

Watching Clemson play was like looking at a picture of a fish on a blank background. Without something there how is anyone supposed to know how big that fish is.

i haven’t even seen many people saying they’re not a good team, it’s just the fact that we’re much better

I'd say we're better. I just think the "much better" stuff might be a little out of hand

They should be able to make this a competitive game going into the 4th quarter

much better might be pushing it. though i do think if both teams play their absolute best game, we win by 2 scores

It’s going to be a very close game.

I think Clemson has to get some big breaks to make it a close game.

I think most are underestimating how good they are. LSU is better and should win, but the difference between the two is thin.

Agreed. 29 straight including strangling Bama last year is no coincidence.

i think most continue to underestimate this LSU team.
LSU is better and some choose to discount the schedule each team played to this point.
the difference between the two is huge.

Yall, its not gonna be a "close" game... If close means win by 10-7 points, then yeah, but it wont be that.

Clemson is "good." Not historic on either side of the ball. LSU offense is Nebraska 71/95, Miami 01, Bama 79, Texas 05, USC 04, etc., historic. Those teams are historic.. THIS team is historic.

The OP makes a good point. Unlike the CEO of putting the pickles and onions on the buns (kkv75), above.

Last year's Bama team was not historic. Maybe historic in respect to Bama's history, which like LSU, had always been a traditional power running school, but not all-time historical. This LSU team might very well be the best offense ever in college football history in terms of exceptional passing prowess coupled with the ability to run effectively when called upon. Big difference.

Clemson fans need to stop with the Bama said the same thing last year talk. We ALL know this LSU offense is way more formidable than Tua throwing screens and slants all day... Joe is throwing downfield, so its not whether your corners can keep their man in front of them and tackle immediately to prevent YAC.

Rather, can Clemson's corners cover 3 elite receivers who are exceptional at catching passes, in addition to a solid TE and a near-elite, pass-catching RB, from the most accurate and decisive QB in college football history?

Honestly, LSU offense might damn well be a Top 10 offense in the NFL RIGHT NOW, if the O-Line could sustain their pass protections. And its not hyperbole...

I do not think that a weak conference says much about a team like Clemson,,,,
they are a great team or would not be at this point...
what a weak conference gives advantage to is to going totally undefeated in a season as "next man up" does not mean as much
"first team" players can heal before needed again in another strong game

This year's LSU team came into the CFP averaging 1 more point and 25 more yards than Bama last year. And that's with Burreaux playing far more snaps than Tua because the defense sucked for the first 8 games.

Burrow only sat out 4 4th quarters this year. That's horrible. I think Tua sat out 10 or 11 last year.
