I still think it is JJ's job to lose and that he obviously has the upper hand going into the 2011 season..if he can improve his mechanics, holding on to the ball too long and his reads he can really get this team FAR..think about it ..you really expect a transfer to just up and grab the reigns and lead the team seamlessly? Especially since Jefferson will be more experienced in the SEC

JJ in 2011
ZM in 2012

IMO..and I am not downplaying the significance of getting met...it will be huge to have him step in in 2012 for us

I think you are probably correct, but Mett is a must to get so we can have someone with a little seasoning for 2012.

JJ is just not good, but IF we are forced to keep the Crowton garbage, he may be the best bet to run it.

Having Mett will give us more options next year, and the year after. Hopefully not having to throw a ridiculously young QB in the fire again.

his reads

Overall i agree, but hopefully you mean presnap reads bc JJ literally does not know what to do if his first passing option isn't open.

I agree, even if mett would become a tiger and beat out what we have here at QB already, Miles still believes in senority and JJ would still be the starter beings he would be a senior..like Walter Cronkite used to say "and thats the way it is"...

I guess you didn't watch any games this year then.

Maybe. But I think he will have to be substantially better in the Spring to earn the starting job.

That's what I'm saying..we most likely are stuck with the crack wizard OC for another year

JJ has had plenty of time to progress as a qb but he still seems like a freshman qb. You can see glimpses of talent sometimes but he still can't read a defense.

so True King..JJ throws a football like he's throwing a hand grenade 40 yards downfield, and JL throws a football like its a hot potato, the minute it hits his hands, he's throwing it...I still say the 3rd string QB at McNeese is better than any QB we have on the team now...hey, just have to live with it..

Do you think they want mett bc he could save us grief in 2012 or bc you think he could waltz right in and snatch the starting job from Jefferson? I mean hell if he can I'm all for it but after watching some of his hs/uga spring game highlights he looks good but doesn't really jump out at me to where i think he'd have the upper hand...

What are you seeing in mett that causes you yo believe its HIS job to lose next season? Jw

I'll come out and admit it now I'm just ready for something new at qb. I'm tired of this fiasco with JJ and JL and just want something fresh.

Well, let's start with the fact that Mettenberger could throw 4 TD passes next year, underhanded, and tie Jefferson's season production.

I'm with you on that man..if mett can come in and just get the ball to our playmakers, even if its not a huge play, and Keep drives going ill be thrilled..we need consistency, any consistency, at qb right now...

The spring will be interesting

Yes, they went hard after him, a JUCO player, because they need someone who can step in NOW and do something. He was going to be the starter at UGA and he's been ridiculous this year in JUCO. Considering what we have at the position now - I think he could definitely come in and win the job.

I never said it was Mett's to lose. I just don't think that it's JJ's to lose. I believe...hope...that Les will open it up and not name anyone the starter until next Fall. Just like he did this year.

Let them fight for it.

But, I GUARANTEE you that Les will feel the pressure to play Mett VERY soon.

Weren't we saying the same thing at the end of last year and beginning of this year? Now look where we are, we've stayed stagnant, if not gotten worse.

Who really knows?? I have become used to the unexpected with Miles. A month ago 90% of the rant would say Crowton was as good as gone, and now, looks like Miles has already confirmed he will be back, so predicting next year's starter at QB is anyone's quess....
