Some of Danny Etling's road starts: @ Notre Dame in 2014, @ Michigan State in 2013 and @ Penn State in 2013. He starts @ Auburn next.
He will be fine.

How did he do in those starts? Hopefully well.

I think, given how awful his team was, you'd have to actually watch the games, rather than read a stat line, to see how he handled the situation.
I doubt they did very well as a team.

While I'm here, I have a question i am sure has been asked and answered already, but I can't find anything. He played as a true freshman in 2013, then as a true sophomore in 2014. Last year, as a junior, he sat out a year for us. This year, he would be a senior. How is he eligible to play next year? Was he able to utilize a red shirt for the year he had to sit out due to transfer rules?

Yes, that exactly. When he transferred in he used his redshirt year to sit out.

I think the OP is just saying that Etling has been in a big time atmosphere before.

Last year would be his red-shirt year.
You have 5 years to play 4

to show that he's played in legitimate hostile environments

Notre Dame lost 14-30
27-40 234 2 TD 2 INT
Michigan St lost 0-14
14-25 160 1 INT
Penn St lost 21-45
21-31 223 1 TD 1 INT
But it's hard to judge those stats with the team is played with then and with the team he is playing with now. I love what I have seen with him so far. He doesn't seem to get rattled and he owns it when he makes a bad throw or a mistake, unlike someone else.

Interesting. I assumed the point of the transfer rule was to penalize the player by removing a year of eligibility. Didn't know the red shirt could be used.
Thanks, team.

Collegiate athletes all have 5 years to play 4. You can take that redshirt year any year you want.
Technically Harris could redshirt next year, and come back in 2018 to piss off the rant as a rsSenior.

I find it interesting that both LSU and Florida have former Boilermakers starting for them right now.

I agree that trying to compare Etling's first road start for LSU to Harris' first road start 2 years ago is like comparing apples to oranges. Etlings started road games before, whereas Harris was as green as can be the last time we went to Auburn.

It's obvious with the rushing yds he ran for his life.
