Get on board or get run over! This offense will be humming soon.

It's so nice to have a qb that understands that the tight ends are eligible relievers.

So nice

It's all that Madden training he has been getting. He isn't afraid to check down to a better target. Rarely have we seen him force a throw. His ability to move in the pocket and spread the ball around how been very impressive thus far.

Lord Etling's train does not stop.

He's just getting started ... buckle up.

He will be so good ... not even Leslie can derail the train.

I truly believe he learned the art of the check down from madden.

The last part also shows how Jennings and Harris pretty much just chuck it deep to one of the 2 receivers. I don't think they are as trusted.. if those throws are picked off, they are like punts.

If anyone hasn't read this article by Ross, I highly recommend it.. LINK

I still say 2008 forever changed Miles trust with most of the quarterbacks..

It's even nicer that we now have a QB that can complete a swing pass, look for a third receiver, and most of all, gets the play started before the clock runs out...

I don't want to derail this thread with Etling jokes, but the fact of the matter is that he has proven through 1 SEC game to be a better distributor than many of his predecessors.

Good post! When I checked the box score last night I saw seven different guys had catches. Colin Jeter also dropped a very catchable ball. This kind of distribution keeps all of our skill players engaged. It also makes it harder for opposing defenses to key on the wideouts on third down. I am very impressed with this kid's poise. The year he sat out he obviously did his mental and physical work to get better.

Distributing the ball to a variety of the playmakers....and taking advantage of what the defense will give you. RB passes tend to be easier than WR passes

So did Chark on what would've been a large gain... of course, can't be too mad at him since he did catch that great TD before that

After the win on the Plains, the train will be filling up.

And he can run when needed.

frickin' A, right.

There are a lot of idiots who basically don't actually follow CFB.

They know jack shite about Purdue.

They never watched Etling play while at Purdue.

They looked at Purdue's record. They know Purdue pretty much sucks historically unless you go back to the Tiller / Orton / Brees days...and even then, they could not win the Big 10.

Etling put up decent FROSH stats on an absolute GARBAGE team.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see that he could (and can and will) flourish with all the weapons that he has now.

Oh ... plus, he's white. And a lot of people simply didn't want to bench a black guy for a white guy. They just won't admit it.

I don't give a rat's arse who LSU's QB is ... just put the best dude on the field who gives us the best chance to win. It was clear after last year's fricking November ABORTION that Harris is not that guy. (Similarly, CLM should no longer be the coach, but everyone already knows that.)

Give me Hodson, Rohan, Tyler, Mauck, Russell, Flynn, Lee, and now ... LORD DANNY ETLING.

At long last ... we have a QB.

Etling passed the eyeball test for me. It's not hype.

Because lsu has had such bad QB play the last few years it's pretty easy to notice the ones who are actually good.

Although I agree we look better (at times) with Etling, the first stat is dumb. So Harris threw to 17 different players last year. We probably will have a total of like 18-19 play? So "through 7 quarters", it's not like each game it will add 4 more. 3 RBs, 1-2 FBs, 3 TEs, 6-7 receivers...there's only so many players that will play
