He is, went home for one week during the summer break, stayed in BR and worked.
Tough for Porter, seems like a good kid.

Big center more effective vs 3-4.

Hope not, regardless of who starts at Center, we will still need a backup.

He really does, and I thought he played a good center last year. I am sure he will get a chance to play some. Pocic is supposed to be a stud, sounds like he has the work ethic as well.

Come on guys. Did you read the link. They don't know Miles, but we do. He stated “Ethan Pocic will play in the first game, if not start.” That is a long ways from saying he will start.

It is not Miles modus operandi to bench a senior preseason award candidate (Remington) who started all of last year. Especially with all of the juniors leaving early these days. Like someone stated, Pocic's play would have to be otherworldly. I find it hard to believe Miles does not start Portor. Especially when he is an outstanding center, a team leader and not a weak link. If he is injured, that is another story.

Pocic is the perfect utility lineman. He can play every position on the line at a very high level. Teams need those type linemen. They are as valuable as the starters. Sometimes more so when injuries start to occur.

I'm not stunned by this. I'm very excited that the staff went best player, instead of loyalty.

He was. And he missed his block or just got straight dominated. I can't remember that exactly.

Either Porter is knicked or this kid is doing something really special at center.

If it was just getting the best 5 out there we could probably put Pocic at RG. But he must be making calls at the line if he is beating the guy out at center.

Can Porter play guard? Is he better than Fanaika?

That sucks so bad and I wish we could fit pocic in somewhere else on the line

why? I mean the name of the game is that you win your position. there are always winners and losers in life. Pocic won the job. lsu doesn't need to be playing favorites.

Yep. Pocic's man injured Mett. But every lineman lets a DL by occasionally, and not all of those hits result in ACL tears.

Terrible thing, really.

My biggest surprise is that he ended up at C. I know he can probably play any position, but he seems like a prototypical T with those measurables
