If Lattimore is leading the conference in rushing how could he not be above Richardson....ESPN hates South Carolina

But really...

Lee has been a integral part in taking LSU to 6-0 but I wouldn't go as far as to say he's one of the 25 best players in the conference.

Brah, that kind of sober unhomerific opinion is not allowed on the Rant.

GTFO.

While I understand everyone deserves recognition for great play in this conference and having 3 LSU players on the list is awesome, you can't make me believe that Jarrett Lee doesn't deserve to be on this list.

Jarret Lee would barely make it on a list of the Top 25 LSU players.

And I don't mean that as a shot at him - we have a bunch of really, really good players. There are at least 5 defensive linemen and 5 defensive backs that I think have been "better" than Lee at football this season, along with 2 runningbacks, 2 WRs, and a handful of Olinemen.

Maybe not, but he would be at the top of my underrated list.

You could plug 6 of the other QBs in the SEC into his position and we'd still be 6-0 with similar stats.

Not really. There aren't that many who take care of the ball as well as Lee. Now, there are some who would have better stats, but they would also have more turnovers from taking more chances.

Wilson, Bray, and McCarron are the only ones comparable to Lee in taking care of the ball.

So, that's a RSJR, Soph, and Soph. I'll take the RSSR over the two sophomores. So, the only guy I'd say is Tyler Wilson, who happens to be the best QB in the conference. Anyone else is too risky either due to the amount of INTs they've already thrown or having far less experience than Lee.

Statistically, the highest he ranks is 5th in any category.

has more to do with CLM than Lee.

Again, not sleeping on Lee's worth, but it's easier to take care of the ball when you throw it 18 times per game vice 40. And plenty of those balls are screens and short passes. He's done remarkably with what's been asked of him, but if he were on a team like Arky, Tenn, or Florida (weak run game, little D) he'd have to take many more risks and would make more mistakes.

You're not wrong but I think it's a bit of a stretch he doesn't at least deserve to be in the Top 25 on this LSU team. Somwewhere. The guy is a big reason we're 6-0. No he isn't asked to throw a ton and no he hasn't been asked to win us a game yet. However he has made big throws he has been the offensive leader for the team. That alone opens up many other things.

Now thats just looking at it from your perspective of a Top 25 LSU player list.

25 was a bit of an exaggeration, and by "barely make" I meant that he would be in there but at the upper end. He's done a great job this year, and my comment was meant to be more about how stacked we are everywhere than to disparage the play of Lee.

I just meant that if the rest of the SEC was allowed to draft LSU players to join their teams it would be a while before Lee got picked.

You're right. As long as the team is winning, no need to discuss football.

And, he'd also make more plays than he has now. Lee is a much, much, much better QB than people realize. He's only thrown into double coverage twice all season that I remember??? If he had to throw it 10 more times it doesn't automatically mean he's going to start making poor decisions with the ball. He hasn't done it all year.

Heck, his one INT was on a play where he and the WR were clearly not on the same page.

Based on Lee's play the last 3 years (excluding his freshman year), there is zero reason to think that he would be a turnover machine if he started throwing it 30 times a game. In fact, the evidence would lean to the argument that he would statistically become one of the top QBs in the league.
