FPI =/= Preseason rankings.

Its a ridiculous formula developed by ESPN to rank teams based on recruiting classes and returning starters

this needs to be stickied to the top of the thread, or at least put on every page.

besides the recruiting and returning starters, I read somewhere that there's actually some other bump you get for having your starting QB return. so that further explains our lofty status.

How accurate is the FPI in preseason normally? Like should we be excited?

You also said LSU will finish 10-2 and beat some lowlife team in a bowl game...BTW ND says howdy...

I wonder what the University of Notre Dame bought Chavis as a christmas gift last year after that dominating defensive gameplan he cooked up.

How does the FPI ranking have us as the highest percentage to win the SECW, but 2nd in the overall FPI ranking behind Alabama?

ESPN manipulation?

Because ESPN's prediction metrics make no sense. They predicted Auburn to win the west but Bama to win the conference.

Nah.. That was the SEC media who did that.

If FPI is based on metrics, and no other biased human input, then we should be higher than Alabama in the overall FPI rankings since our percentage to win the SECW is higher than Alabama's.
