These guys said that they wrote us out of the SEC west title. Discuss amongst yourselves. Tell me why we beat Ole Miss and Bama this year?

I don't think the issue is that we can't beat either team. We also play Georgia and Florida. So we can beat Bama or Ole Miss and still not win the West.

The biggest barrier to us winning the West is how easy of a schedule AL has! It's almost ridiculous.

That's false. Lou Holtz said the West title would come down to LSU/BAMA, and the deciding factor would be the play of Jefferson and Mcelroy. Kirk Herbstriet predicted Bama to play Florida in the Championship game, but he certainly didn't write us off. Chris Fowler specifically mentioned to not "write off LSU". Kirk sounded like he agreed with Chris' statement. Robert Smith didn't really comment on LSU's position in the West when the issue arose.

I just assume that if he thinks Alabama's schedule is a barrier for LSU, than Ole Miss' must be the nail in the coffin because it is laughable, even compared to Alabama's conference schedule.

Good point both AL and Ole Miss both have it pretty easy, which is going to make it that much more difficult for LSU. I do consider AL a bigger threat than Ole Miss don't think you can dispute that, it is also why im much more concerned with their schedule.

If LSU plays up to its potential,..and they play like they are capable of playing...nobody will beat them...consistency is the key..its hard to stay up for every game week in and week out...there has to be a couple of different players every week step up and make a game changing difference...

Because Ole Miss is quite probably the most overrated team in the history of preseason hype. A historically-mediocre team with a historically-mediocre coach = a mediocre season in most cases.

Bama has great coaching, but their depth isn't at LSU's level. Also, Saban has been known to lay an egg from time to time.

LSU wins the West.

They may be overrated, but not even close to the most overrated.

At LSU, he's blown a 21-0 lead to Tennessee, lost to an average Arkansas team and a bad Arkansas team, lost to Kentucky as a #1 team, and not to mention, last season as a whole he laid an egg getting blown out a few times (twice at home).

Because we're just fans and not players. Although, I do agree with you that you generally should not count any team as an automatic win. The last team I did that with was Kentucky in 2007.
