How do I put this nicely? I don't give a flying frick what ESPN thinks about anything related to college football. They are starting to give Bleacher Report a run for its money for the biggest ball of shite that can double as "Analysis" for College Football.

How can you argue with 18 out of 22 starters back, most of whom have atleast two years experience or more, along with a bunch of the same writers saying we have many potential first round draft picks, yet say we are over-rated????? Makes no sense. And too much talent on this team to not be considered one of, if not THE favorite to win it all this fall!

It can easily be argued that LSU will underachieve this year. One bad loss and the wheels can go flying off. Miles will be under a shite ton of pressure this year to win big and the team will most likely sense that. I really do hope things play out like they should and this team is in the hunt for the playoff in late Novemember. I like Miles and would like to see him here a lot longer as long as the team plays to its capabilities.

ESPN ranks LSU #1 in their preseason mag and then writes another article to call them the most overrated contender. makes sense. Stand up "journalism" to self-create an argument amongst their own writers

True.

While we are not the Missouri Tigers, realistic LSU fans are adopting the Missouri state motto with Les in 2016 ... "Show Me."

Not surprised to see the usual suspects hop in and celebrate an article that talks negatively about LSU while yall vomit diarrhea all over every other article and thread that talks positively about LSU football.

Never change LSU "fans"

Got to agree on this. Having had plenty of reasons to be negative over the last few years, can we at least accept that this looks to be the most positive upcoming season in recent memory?

Could things go wrong? Could the wheels fall off? Just as they could with any program. Do we always have to assume the worst?

The article is BS and meant to stir the pot. UT is unquestionably the most overrated SEC contender this year. With that said, even UT could win it all. We still have to play the games...

-LSU was supposedly firing Miles after the A&M win.

But we didn't, players and fans rallied around him and he closed a top 3 recruiting class, and made awesome staffing decisions since then.

quote:

-LSU was completely outclassed against three divisional opponents.

Last season got away from us, and obviously, that was last year. In addition, all three of those opponents have lost significant talent to the draft, while we've held on to our experienced talent.

quote:

-LSU, to date, has still had quarterback issues.

Maybe, but I still think this is really overblown. Harris was #7 in the SEC in passing statistics. He was perfect with no INTs until November, then things kind of fell apart. That's reportedly when he had his hernia injury. He's since been treated for that and he'll have another year under his belt. Plus, Dameyune Craig has already made great strides with our WRs, which I'm sure only helps Harris as well. I'm not too concerned.

quote:

-LSU's special teams were nauseating last year.

Yep. May still be an issue.

quote:

-LSU's defense was very lackluster last season. Obviously, we have a new defensive coordinator, but will we experience growing pains? Scheme confusion? Who knows?

Yeah, I think you can pretty much throw out all that data. Aranda is going to make a HUGE and IMMEDIATE impact. It's a very simple and effective scheme, and players are already reporting to have it down. With all the returning experience and the new talented freshmen coming in - not worried.

quote:

-We've got road games @ Wisconsin, @Auburn, @ Florida, @ Arkansas, @ A&M.

Florida is the only game that concerns me, here. I love that we get Bama at home. Only slightly worried about the schedule.

I say why not plug them into the playoffs? Our team will play with heart this year. Should be a blast.

Life in the EMBRACE DEBATE era.

ESPN reporting on itself is the ultimate in making themselves the story. Reminds me of when they would have Jaws do his QB rankings to fill offseason content, then fill up all their daytime shows and blogs with more personalities arguing over Jaws's opinion.

Do division games count "more" for tiebreaker purposes in the SEC?
