I agree. On the flip side, this is why we lost to AU in 06.

yeah miles tries to play big games with a tight a-hole (like saban). sometimes that blows up in your face, and sometimes you get the miracle pick on the 1 yard line and 73 yard punt to save you

nature of the beast of playing for that kind of game (which miles hasn't done this year until last night)

that defense was good but it was nothing like this one

man remember the WV game. UF was like that but with much better players. that 2007 D looked invincible early, too

oh yeah UF or AU 2007 were much more intense

Were you at the game last night?

You could feel the intensity of the defenses.

That and the road atmosphere made it way more intense than that Auburn game. 07 Florida is on it's level.

I'm sorry ESPN but if you're going to hype a game through the roof, call it the GAME OF THE CENTURY (your own billing), and even have your College Gameday program there, why are you tearing it apart?

Jeez. There was nothing wrong with the article. He said it was an exciting game, but was not a true "classic" with four interceptions and all the missed field goals. It's his opinion. It was a very ugly game with some great defensive plays. Exciting but ugly. And I absolutely agree with his conclusion. There should be no rematch.

It's on the level or surpasses 07 Florida. 07 Auburn isn't even in the competition.

This defense is better then 07.

but our offense sucked last night, and a lot of that came down to BOTH QBs

had our QBs played even mediocre, then we would have put up 17-20 points without question

No NO NO... First of all, Bama's defense is incredible. If you looked at many of the pass plays, our guys were covered like glue.

Ware got stuffed by Bama's D and we know how tough he is. Lee just didn't have his best stuff last night. It happens. He's been great all year before this one.

JJ did NOT suck last night.

He only had 10 passes and completed 60% of those including a 30+ yarder which put us closer to the end zone than Bama ever got. That gave us a huge boost before half.

JJ was our 2nd leading rusher last night and averaged 3.9 per carry. Trent Richardson averaged 3.9 yards per carry.

Put it this way - The golden Bama D was giving up 44 yards per game on the ground before last night. JJ finished with 43 on just 11 carries. HE DID HIS JOB. And although I've always hated JJ doing the pitch option, it's got a different dimension with Ford involved and they ran that play like champs last night. It was easily the most effective play we had and Bama didn't really stop it.

I think your observation is quite astute, actually. The media was the one hyping this game as GAME OF THE CENTURY and then they decide to mock the hype as if they weren't the ones who created it. They do this all of the time, of course, as sports media exists to sell beer and shampoo.

I don't understand why there's so much disapointment here. You had the two best defences facing off last night. What did people think was going to happen? An offensive show? NO... A defensive showdown is what should be expected, and that's exactly what happened.

Let Ok State play a defense like LSU or Bama and see how many points they put on the score board. Heck, see how many they can keep LSU or Bama from scoring. Maybe we will get a chance to demonstrate that before it's all said and done.
