Correct! Eric wasn’t 6’5, all be it he seemed that big! He was 6’2 310 with a 36” waist at the time of his death. RIP!!!

Only Dr. Nacho is left from Tommy Hodson's line.

Crazy because they aren’t that old! True tragedy and honestly should be a 30 for 30 or on SECN.

We played Bama at LSU in 1987 and lost 22-10 as we were ranked top 5 I believe going into that game. We were all drinking together at Fred's after the game.
Let me see if I can get all the players that I remember being there. Eric Andolsek, Tommy Hodson, Mickey Guidry, Ruffin Rodrigue, Ron Sancho, Nicky Hazard, maybe Sammy Martin, Mickey Harris, Troy Leblanc, Harvey Williams and brother Darrell Williams, Henry "Too Tuff" Thomas, Tony Houston, Slip Watkins, Karl Dunbar and I think Leonard "Moon" Valentine.
The band started playing Sweet Home Alabama for whatever crazy reason, and Eric picked up the singer by the neck with one hand and pressed him up for a few seconds, then dropped him so he could get some air.

When we played at Alabama, Eric would go crazy on the field when they played, Sweet Home Alabama! Not only because he didn’t like Alabama, because that was one of his favorite songs. It came down to Alabama and LSU for Eric. The Tutwiler‘s are related to the Andolsek’s(Levert side). That’s the trivia for today, lol.

Still on my all-time LSU OL.
Eric started some at DL as a true Fr in '84 after Barbay and Thomas got hurt.
Probably available somewhere but the Lions played the Bears on Thanksgiving which matched Eric against William "the Refrigerator" Perry. And I think Eric worked the Fridge. Andolsek was just so strong.

I was up in Dallas, years back, met up with a number of coaches, in the group was Bert Hill. He was on the staff of the Lions during the time Eric was there. Bert had a number of stories on Andolsek.
I have a few stories on Bert, I’ll try to get them in tomorrow. Some might enjoy.
Here you can look up Bert, this will give you some insight as to what the stories might contain.

He was UUUUUGE. No neck from what I recall. Great Lineman. Rest in Peace.

LSU has had more than it's share of athletes dying too young, but EA's death is one of the most bizarre.
RIP to a great Tiger.

I have a picture taken with him at fan day in tiger stadium on a hot sunny day when I was about 7 or 8 years old . On the back of the photo my dad wrote . “ The toughest guy on the team “

Happy belated!
I remember that day vividly……the exact time and place I was.
Such a sad sad day
