OSU's offense clearly improved when Miles became their OC. Guess you neglected to realize that.

I will add this to your post.. FWIW..
one of my best OSU friends told me thgis when Les was hired...
"You will love him from a few years and will not be able to get rid of him fast enough later on"
I did not ask any questions then, but he implied it was a "personality/arrogance" thing...nothing concrete.

Pretty much means nothing. Some fans never liked him and never will. Also no one was jumping fir joy with this hire, the people that live kes do so cus he grew on them.

Les Miles knows nothing about coaching an offense and has never had any success doing so. He is simply pointing out that that is not necessarily the case.

You can add this stat as well and it helps to complete the picture. CLM has never recruited a skill position player that has gone on to be drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. Can't count Jamarcus, Dwayne Bowe or Chris Davis. They were Saban recruits. There was a WR from Okie St. that went late first round in 01 I think, but Miles was not his recruiter.

I sure have missed this over the last few years. Glad to see it back.

you think, but aren't sure, but it was a staff member that worked for Miles right? So the head coach isn't the only person that recruits? Crazy. And I wouldn't count JR anyway, seeing how he didn't succeed. I guess if a player gets drafted, but not in the first round, he's not very good.

All I see is Mike Gundy made their offense really good in 02 and 03.
then Gundy tore it up in the NFL.

you sure know what you're talking about man
can i count Ridley? He just rushed for over 1000 yards in the NFL even though he wasnt a first rounder
and im pretty sure cornerbacks are considered skill position players
mo, pat peterson...

And? Is there a point to this?

how come Chavis couldn't carry Fulmer if he's so great on his own?

that offense with josh fields and rashaun woods was sick
Posted on 2/8/13 at 10:45 am to tgr4ever
Sooooo, if im reading this right his offenses have historically been good in the beginning and steadily declined the longer he was there…great positive thread dude

apparently your friend was wrong

quote:myself. I think the numbers you posted are self-evident. I formed my own conclusion, as you suggested in your OP. But maybe there was no case you were making, and I was wrong in assuming you were making a case - other than to present these numbers - which were interesting. So your OP is appreciated.
**confused**
Now am wondering what Les' tenure at LSU would show if LSU's offensive rankings/numbers were also put in a column like his OSU record was. And maybe compared with a few predecessors' records as well.

He left and....
They have consistently had a high powered offense every since and the school is enjoying the most success it has had in the program's history.
