why is this on Alleva, and any of his predecessors? it's not like Van Buren's accomplishments are all that recent.

I took SCUBA from him as well. The guy was 75 years old(at the time) and a total badass.

It's on Alleva because there has been a hard push to get this man admitted for years. It should have been done years ago, but it wasn't. I believe Alleva had the ability to speed this process up, but didn't. A deserving athlete and his family shouldn't have to wait until he's 90 for this honor.

First off, congrats to him. He deserves it. Secondly, if you know anything you would know Alleva doesn't control who gets put on the LSU Hall of Fame List. There is a committee that that is comprised of former HOF inductees that decides who gets in and when.

I know there is a committee. I am not an Alleva fan either. I expect the AD to be able to influence the selection process, to some degree. I do not think he exerted influence here and I disagree with that. I wrote him on this issue years ago, and I know others have, too.

NOW...can we please get Pete Maravich inducted. For Christ's sake...The greatest college basketball player of all time is not even in his college's HOF.

He is my uncle. I wasn't able to go, but my mom went to his induction. I only met him a few times. A lot of people think we look alike.
