Right. Opinions, some of which are based on rationality.

Doesn't matter what it's based off of. If we didn't have different ones we wouldn't have boards like these. No reason to say things like da fuq. Or you are wrong.

Early thoughts on LSU vs Wisconsin

All I know about Wisky is...

Offense..they will return a ton of good backs, probably have an above average offensive line, and lost most of their WR corp to graduation.

LSU 10
Wisconsin 7

You got mad when someone called you "wrong," and then you throw out the ever-so-pc word "retard". Nice.

Wisconsin's defense will be fine, in my opinion.

The 'starting' front seven graduated, but Aranda's 3-4 defense calls for a lot of in-game substitutions, etc. Five out of the seven projected starters along the defensive front seven have started games in their career and seen plenty of meaningful game experience with the way Aranda runs his defense.

Is there cause for some concern? Sure. I'm more concerned about Wisconsin replacing Chris Borland than I am about the unit as a whole.

The defensive backs are very experienced, but they are also a good unit. Michael Caputo returns after being plagued by a head injury in the latter of last season. Likely would have been more than an honorable mention had he not missed/been limited for the final four games. Sojourn Shelton is one of the best young corners in the B1G. Started from Day One and recorded 36 tackles, 11 passes defended, seven pass breakups, and four interceptions. Darius Hillary will play opposite of Shelton. He saw a lot of playing time as a redshirt freshman and started all 13 games a year ago. Doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but certainly does not jump off the page.

A lot of questions surround the WR position. A lot of young guys and Wisconsin is attempting to replace Jared Abbrederis. Will be difficult. I like Jordan Fredrick. He doesn't have a lot of production, but his size (6'4" 215 pounds) and run-block ability has been noted. Here's to hoping he can produce in the passing game.

Jacob Pedersen will be difficult to replace at TE, too. However, Wisconsin has also been very good at developing TEs. The starter this season, Sam Arneson, has plenty of experience. He's been a spot starter for his first couple seasons and saw a lot of playing time in Wisconsin's two TE sets.

Running backs and offensive line are pretty self-explanatory. Backs are extremely talented. Everyone knows about Melvin Gordon's talented, but Corey Clement has drawn incredibly high praise and was very productive as a freshman. These are two of the most physically-talented RBs that Wisconsin may have ever had.

Offensive line returns four starters from a year ago, but it is not particularly deep. There is a lot of size up front, though, including Rob Havenstein (6'8" 330 pounds).

Like LSU, we are not sure what quarterback will look like yet. Gary Andersen would prefer a dual-threat QB, but McEvoy looks like an athlete playing QB and Stave (19 career starts) is anything but. With the offense's strength being in the run game, I would prefer the QB with 19 starts over McEvoy.

Both teams will need to develop a passing attack. I'm not buying the blowout some of you seem to be predicting. I simply don't see where the points come from. Better athletes you have? Of course. Will that turn into points? Remains to be seen.

Weren't we supposed to blowout Arky and Iowa last year? Wisky is way better than both of those teams. I would say don't get your hopes too high.

Wisky is not better than IOWA you nimrod. Iowa had the best LB corps in the nation and a defense ranked in the top 10. Wisky doesn't even have a starter coming back outside of the secondary on defense.

Iowa lost 28-9 to Wisconsin at home in 2013 and the "best LBs corps in the nation" that was part of that loss has graduated. I'd be very hesitant to call Iowa a better team than Wisconsin.

Thanks for the contributions, Hoops Galore! Sounds like you also know a lot about basketball as well.

Both teams have some challenges and I think it will benefit both to start the season not playing at home vs. a quality opponent. This early in the season, I look for both teams to run the ball a lot and for turnovers as usual, to play a crucial role in deciding the game.

I live in Texas and will actually be attending this game--this will be the first time I've ever seen the Tigers play away from Tiger Stadium, and my first time to ever see a game at Reliant Stadium, so I am looking forward to it.

I moved to Houston after graduating from LSU and I can say this exact same thing.

Had season tickets for 12 years growing up, but never went to an away game. Very much looking forward to this game.

Vs one of the top OLs in the SEC right out of the gate. Look for the valiant effort to fall well short late in the game and LSU to pull away.

Tigers - 41
Badgers - 24

I expect to see a lot of running from both teams, eating up the clock, resulting in a low scoring game unless someone makes a lot of errors. I think a 17-14 outcome, with whatever team's quarterback plays best being the winner. This is not likely to be a blow out by either team, absent special teams points or a lot or turnovers.

The three linebackers that were so integral to Iowa's defense, whom you also called the best corps in the country, have graduated. With those three backers on the field, Iowa still lost 28-9 in Kinnick to Wisconsin.

The Hawkeyes have won just one game against a ranked opponent in their last nine games.

I would be hesitant calling Iowa a better team. I don't necessarily think that's true.
