In an interview with Kristian Geric this week, he said that he first wished that he had another year at lsu. He then said that coach o changed the way they practiced, and he equated the practices he's gone through this week with practices under coach o. I thought that was a powerful statement.

Duke really should have another year and Donnie Alexander should have 2 more years. Les was an idiot to not redshirt those guy instead of just playing them on special teams for 3 years.

Lb is one of the positions we couldn't redshirt.

Why not? They didn't play at LB early on.

You may want to get in touch with lsu and let them know.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2013) Duke Riley
Registered 13 appearances at linebacker and on LSU's special team units … Posted a half tackle for a loss of eight yards when Auburn's punter dropped the ball and tried to get off the punt ... Collected a season's best two tackles versus Arkansas.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2014) donnie alexander
Played in 12 games with most of his action coming on special teams as a true freshman in 2014 … One of 17 true freshmen to see game action for LSU … Played in every contest except for the Florida game … Finished with one tackle, which came in road win over Texas A&M … Backup linebacker on defense for the Tigers.

Do you not understand how rare it is for true freshman lbs to get lots of playtime in the sec?

They werent ready to take play time from Deion Jones or kwon alexander but were good enough to provide depth. Im not understanding the bitching.

I am definitely in O's corner but you gotta hand it to Aranda for turning Duke into what he did.

Rickdaddy, the point was that they should have been redshirted their freshman year rather than playing special teams. The stats LSU provided don't show any significant playing time other than special teams.

The point is, they should not of played, they could of found someone else to play those special team snaps.

Same crap as why was Danielle Hunter not redshirted? He never got any snaps as a defensive lineman in 2012.

Do you people not know that you can look this shite up before posting?
quote:

FRESHMAN SEASON (2012)
Played in 12 games with no starts ... Saw action in every game with the exception of the South Carolina game … Finished with 12 tackles, including three solo … Most of his action came on special teams, including kickoff coverage … Had three tackles in win over Idaho and two stops in wins over Towson and Mississippi State.

My god. They all added depth to an already lean lb corp. Both played at lb. You also have no idea the promises that were made to these players prior to signing.
Like i said, they werent good enough to play over Kwon and Debo but were good enough to add depth at lb and be valuable soecial team's contributers.

Its like you guys are tryin to find something to bitch about.

If we had redshirted him people would be bitching about not letting younger guys get on the field.

You're right bud, those 12 tackles were needed, the redshirt just wasnt worth it.

He played in every game as DE.

Are you under the assumption that snaps in a real game arent a good thing?
Bitching about redshirts 4 years after the fact is just looking for reasons to bitch.

You guys are also not taking into account that redshirting no way means we automatically keep these guys for their 5th year.

Most players dont stay for a 5th year.

You're just looking for reasons to argue, I just take some satisfaction that you had to do research on meaningless snaps in meaningless games on a friday night to find Danielle Hunter's 2012 stats, good for you
