How do y'all feel the LSU football program has done since that 21-0 embarrassment?
We were 1 minute from winning our 2nd straight SECW title in 2012, so there's that.
We've fixed the issues that appeared to be holding us back in 2012 and prior (QB play, QB coaching, play-calling, etc.) and already saw the benefits with an elite offense last year. We've gone a step further in hiring what appears to be a great OL coach in Grimes.
In the face of all of this perceived turmoil in losing underclassmen to the NFL at astronomical rates, we're still in a damn fine position considering we've won 10 and 11 games the last two years and just brought in what I think could be our best all-around recruiting class since 2001.
Our future looks mighty bright, and it's not like the last two years have been disasters by any means. Reading the rant you'd think otherwise. If you just take a step back and look at everything with a clear mind, we really haven't been that far off the last two years. With the current offensive and defensive staff we have and the talent we'll continue to bring in on both sides of the ball, I like what lies ahead.

So I say: if recruting talent is all that matters, then even if he doesn't win, Les is a great coach because he recruits the best talent
see my stance is, they are flawed bc the anti miles people fail to realize that bama has beaten LSU in recruiting every year since saban got the ball rolling. it's actually a failure of saban whenever he doesn't win it all.

Not to mention Saban also gets:
1) Easier schedules
2) Favorable officiating
3) Mulligans (when needed)
Just wait for the playoffs to start: Saban's Bama teams will be gifted entry into the final four when they fail to win the SEC West. For example, see 2013. Auburn would have had to win the SEC last year for the right to rematch Bama had the playoff system been put in place.
Saban is literally handed a title almost every season. How Bama doesn't win it every year is a miracle if you ask me.

I see all these anti-Les Miles fans out there that say stuff like "If we don't win at least two national champioships with all this talent, then Miles should be fired."

Dude, just read about every thread on here, whenever talent or recruiting or the young freshman are mentioned.
Its always how "he underachieves with so much talent", or "its setting up nicely for '15 NC".
Like someone else said, Saban gets the #1 recruiting class every year and he didn't win it last year. Major frick up then and he should be fired right?

Why are you bringing such keen logic to this discussion?!

I feel like this, the national championship teams of LSU, UF, and Bama all had three things besides the head coach.
Great offensive coordinator
Great defensive coordinator
Great recruiting
We have final gotten the third piece to that puzzle. We'll have to wait and see how Kiffin does, but so far, we are the only team in the West that has all three. Win the West with a 13-0, 12-1, or 11-1 season, and you are guaranteed a ticket in the Final Four. I don't care if six other people are undefeated and you have one loss. I don't care if you lost to an undefeated SEC East team. The West has proven itself over the last five years with taking at least one team to the National Championship game.
I'm not going to bash Miles if we don't win one in the next 4 years, but we have all the pieces right now. In 2015-2017, we should be staples in the Final Four.

Its not just the talent a-hole, its the coaching where he has fricked it up royally!!!
Tennessee-his first game, he called it at halftime
Auburn 2006- We had the Best Talent- he was tooooo conservative
21-0
Clock game- Tennessee/Ole Miss
Our Natty Season- Kentucky/ArKANSAS
Our 21-0 Bama Season... Look at the Ga. game- ZERO first downs in the first half with that Clown of a QB... shite on J Lee's face
ETC.... he has fricked up a lot of potential

I know, novel idea.
FTR, I don't think Miles should be fired, but I agree with Casanova.
