so, the most boring sport ever invented isn't doing well at LSU? we should drop the sport, at least for the men.

agreed. the men have been awful for as long as i can remember. I can't remember the last time they won a match.

soccer seriously needs some rules changes. I try (every few years at World Cup time) to get interested, but the rules are just absurd and take so much of the offense out of the game. Scoring (and scoring chances) are so low that most games are virtually unwatchable.
I'm not looking for video game type scoring, but an average score of 5-4 would actually be pretty entertaining to watch. But all the 0-0 and 1-0 games, with VERY few shots on goal, are just awful.
Serious, serious rule changes needed.

Yeah, if you think the global soccer community is going to change a 150 year old game's rules in any significant way...you're smoking some of that good stuff.
I agree that Lee needs to do better. He's recruiting great, just needs to get more wins.

Oh, I know they won't change the rules. I'm just saying I won't embrace the game because the current rules make the game unwatchable.
All other major sports constantly tweak their rules to make the games more entertaining. Soccer, of course, will not.
