Ben Simmons hasn't made this team any better? What? He is a Freshmen that has been handed the reigns of an entire program and asked to lead them into greatness, alone.
Here is a list of other NCAA Elite Talents that were one and done (the rule started in 2006)
2007 Draft
1st Pick - Greg Oden, Ohio St. (07' National Title Game - He had Mike Conley and Daequan Cook)
2nd Pick - Kevin Durant, Texas (4th Seed in 2007 Tourney, lost in 2nd round upset and he had Dj Augustin)
2008 Draft
1st Pick - Derrick Rose, Memphis (08' National Title Game - Coached by Calipari, also had Chris-Douglas Roberts on the team)
2010 Draft
1st Pick - John Wall, Kentucky (10' Elite Eight - Coached by Calipari, also had a future NBA lineup surrounding him with DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Darius Miller, Patrick Patterson
2011 Draft
1st Pick - Kyrie Irving, Duke (11' Sweet 16 - Coached by Coach K, played with an awesome college rotation with Miles and Mason Plumlee, Kyle Singler, Seth Curry)
2012 Draft
1st Pick - Anthony Davis (12' National Champ - Coached by John Calipari, played with Darius Miller, Terrence Jones, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Marquis Teague)
2013 Draft
1st Pick - Anthony Bennett (13' 2nd Round, this was a bad pick by CLE back in 2013 and they knew it)
2014 Draft
1st Pick - Andrew Wiggins (14' Sweet 16, played with the 3rd overall pick in the same draft, Joel Embiid)
2015 Draft
1st Pick - Karl-Anthony Towns (15' played for JC and with Willie Caulie Stein, Andrew Harrison, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, etc...)
So Ben Simmons not being able to lead LSU to the Final Four isn't something that should shock douche bags like Skip Bayless. He just doesn't have the coach or the teammates around him to help take a little of the pressure off his back.

Agreed. This is on Johnny
I can't help to think how much better we could have been this year if either Martin or Mickey stayed

I don't blame Simmons and don't believe he is over rated at all. I would just like to see more passion. He will need it at the next level. The majority of the falls on CJJ. He recruited these guys. He teaches and coaches the offensive and defensive sets. True, he can't make the free throws and shots for them, but he can do a better coaching job.

There is also OJ Mayo and Michael Beasley who played each other in the first round. Beasly beat Mayo and Beasley then got eliminated in 2nd round. Neither team was that good

I don't blame any one individual player but when you only shoot 10-19 from the FT line. It is kinda hard not to put partial blame on him along with the rest of the team that was freaking terrible at the stripe and at playing fricking defense.

the Coach and the Star have ZERO leadership qualities...Jones may be a great Recruiter/Asst, but his HC acumen is nil.

Who expects Ben Simmons to lead this team to the final four lol? I think the fan base would be happy not seeing Simmons miss 10 free throws a game ,and would be even happier seeing TQ take 10 less shots a game. We are hoping this team makes it to the tourney. Whoever is thinking final four needs to go see a doctor

I can see your point. If he played with more passion and aggression, this would probably take care of itself.
