For me the answer will always be 2001. Tiger Stadium as an 11 year old during the Auburn SEC West Championship is a top 10 memory of my childhood.

Other candidates for me are 2000, 2006, and 2011.

What you got?

2005

That's actually a really good choice.

I would also add '97. Simply because, for me, that win against number 1 Florida that year was the beginning of a young ST225's love of LSU football. I already liked the home town team as a youngster, obviously, but that win took it up a notch.

2010 was special. Patrick Peterson’s last year & Tyrann Mathieu’s first year included dozens of big moments. That 2010 Freshman class on offense and defense. was special. Steven Ridley pounded the rock. Drake Nevis & Kelvin Sheppard played extremely well.

Memorable, last-second wins @ Florida & the legendary Tennessee game. Beat Bama in Tiger Stadium and…need I mention when Pat Peterson struck the Heisman pose?!

2018, Devin White was one hell of a leader and that whole team just played with grit.

This could end up being a great discussion. There are so many to choose from and I can see people going anywhere.

For 2001, beating #2 Tenn in the SECCG was great - and then for me, I actually went from NOLA to Chicago to spend time with family during New Years and watched Illinois get beatdown by the Tigers in NOLA. Was kinda funny to me because I had seen every other game in person.

I think my fav, older season for me, is 1982. Just because of my young age and listening on radio, it was special - even though we lost 3 of the last 4. That's the FSU oranges game season for younger posters.

Burrows first year in 2018. Georgia win at home was epic and is very underrated game that doesn’t get talked about enough.

2015 LSU. Fournette was unbelievable and Heisman favorite until we played Bama. Jamal Adams was a beast!

1959 - favorite team of all. === my last year at LSU -

the year of the Cannon Halloween miracle run. - and the loss the following week to Tennessee 14-13 when Cannon failed to make the 2pt conversion. He swore he actually crossed the goal line.

Team ended up getting whipped badly in a repeat match with Old Miss on Jan 1 1960. that was a huge downer for the legacy of that team, however we had several players hurt, and many had not wanted a re-match with Ole Miss anyway. Dietzel sure didn't.

This was also the year that the American Football League started up and we had players signing pro-contracts (cannon included) under the goal posts folllowing the bowl game. I suspect all that new wrangling with which league to sign detracted a lot of the players from their proper preparation for the game.

Way way way big downer.

But still my favorite memory of all time. I charted every play that entire years and kept those records for many years, only to discover they somehow go lost in one of the many moves I made in the succeeding 6 decades.

Great times back then - 1958 National Champions - birth of the Chinese Bandits - origination of the Golden Girls!!!

B.T.W. = my granddaughter became a Golden Girl - 2005-2008. In December she is marrying a member of that 2005-2008 band. Having a 'reunion of band and Golden Girls is going to ve a feature at theit wedding reception - said that one of the 1958 Golden Girls just MAY be able to attend) - all HUGE fans of ALL things LSU.

no pics - just find any poster of Gus from 2005-2008 - she will be the prettiest one there!!!

2006 - SHOULD'VE won the NC. Lost 7-3 at Auburn. Jimbo later commented on that game saying we should've/could've won by 3 TD's, implying Les handcuffed the play calling. That game and offense had Les Miles written all over it. Win there and we beat Florida in the rematch SECCG and go to the natty.

1987 - Mike Archer's first year went 10-1-1. The most talented team pre-Saban in a long time. Tied Ohio State because we insisted on throwing the ball late in the game, and in chip-shot FG range to win. But instead threw a pic. Lost to Alabama when Tommy Hodson was hurt and didn't start. Had speed EVERYWHERE at the skill positions with a very fast defense. Steve Spurrier was BEGGING for the job in '87. Makes one wonder what he could've done with Tommy Hodson at QB with Wendell Davis, Rogie Magee, Harvey Williams, Sammy Martin, Tony Moss and a slew of others.
