How long did you spend on that very thoughtful reply?

ODB's return vs UAB was not some random occurrence relative to Auburn. It was part of Auburn's scout film from one of only two LSU games they had to study. You bet your arse the ODB return was part of their conversation in game prep. Of course it was!

Would Malzahn have come up with the return concept had Miles not done it first? Who knows. But to act like influence of ODB's play on Auburn is a dismissible impossibility goes beyond stupid.

They were obviously keenly aware of it. Hell, #11 even duplicated ODB's start to the right, then veer back to the left return path. The Bigger question is wtf Saban was thinking by not emphasizing kick coverage, ESPECIALLY WITH AN AU RETURN MAN PARKED IN THE EZ. Bama kicked that ball, and then stood around watching it.

Meh. The FG unit is always just a bunch of OL. Before ODB did his return, can anyone remember it happening? Certainly no one watching the game foresaw it.

my favorite WTF high school practice reps were always the what to do/what not to do when a FG gets blocked to avoid any leon lett moments

Alabama coaching staff disagrees
so you think they should not protect the kicker with lineman? I guess they should have just put a bunch of wr's & db's on the line, no way auburn would have scored then.

He don't get the credit, but I will give you that ODB doing it early in the year may have made him think about it.

Every coach knows to do this. Just because one of our guys did it earlier in the year does not mean it has never been done before, or even that it hasn't been done this year anywhere else. You are awarded no credit for this OP

3 fricking years and the idiots here still can't get this shite right. He's only one of the best WRs to ever play for LSU. Why would anyone take the time to at least put the kid's correct initials in a post rather than some dead scumbag rapper's??

so are you saying that if Nick had it to do over, he's have the exact same personnel on the field?
