Does LSU start now, getting ready to replace Miles next year?

I have no idea on what will happen with Miles - he could be here for 10 more years for all I know.

Lets assume, this was just the admin that couldn't get its communication and messaging together this time around.

...then are they going to spend the next year getting together the perfect plan, message, money, and horse trading, to get THE coach they want?

Nope. Less is firmly entrenched as coach until he is ready to go and no matter the record that is what the leadership and fans of LSU deserve

I would guess 4 SEC loses could cost him his job. 3 and he probably stays.

he just solidified his position in becoming the winningest coach in LSU history sat. He will be here until that record is broken

I'd rather they do what Georgia did and wait until after the season to do anything.

I can't stand Les Miles as the coach, but he should be respected enough to finish his last season without having shite thrown at him from the administration, and not only that but it decreases the chances of the deal being a total frickup (thanks Alleva)

I think at the end of next year, baring SECW title and NC title run - which will not happen - we will see what LSU has been planning and thinking about.

If it is another dismal season and nothing changes, it will show that Football is no longer a concern to admin. That will cement it in my mind.

Nope.. this was the window. the boosters were supportive and the upgrade coach was ready to head this way.

it's all done now.. apathy from boosters and fan base will start to set in. we're back to middle of the pack team.

To go with your analogy the window hasn't closed it just wasn't open enough and there wasn't time to get it open enough in three weeks.

Anger isn't going away, it is building and if there is poor performance the money and administration will be better prepared to make a move.

If Miles doesnt win the SECW and/or beat Bama, he's toast.

valid... however, if the reports are true that jimbo was prepared to move, incoming president made a big mistake.
